Some of the greatest coaches in history have often said. You either win, or you learn. Acknowledging your mistakes and learning from them shows great aptitude and ability to improve. GREAT video. If you cannot admit your mistakes, you will never learn. If you take the lesson and do better next time, you eventually win!!
You can only get better by taking responsibility when things go wrong. That is how you learn. I have been involved in racing (Road and dirt) for most of my 73 years. Your are far more along than I have ever been. Keep up the good work. I so want to see you rise to the top. GOD bless

I’ve talked to a bunch of racers. The one thing the great drivers told me is they did what they had to do what they had to do to win. Better crew, bumping, crashing, whatever it takes. You have that in you so go get it. It’s your time and your the future.

(Not that she wasn't already). It takes a lot of pro athletes their whole careers to acknowledge their mistakes and learn from them. Hailie is a young driver starting her second year in the trucks! Last year no driver got caught up more in other peoples wrecks than Hailie did! Hailie had the worst luck last year and she is gonna keep getting better and better I see her getting a win this year!

You are correct. I have subtly tried telling her here that this is the big times now. Not fun and games. If she is serious about this as a career, she needs to concentrate more on the racing and less on the "good times". I have urged her not to make the same mistakes as Danica. She too had a tremendous opportunity but blew it. There is a definite change in attitude in this video. Ford is spending tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars on her advancement. If I were a betting person, I would bet that Ford, her dad, David, maybe all of them sat her down and laid it on the line. She is young and maybe didn't digest the position she is in. This is a job and everyone has to "learn" how to work. In the real world, some need to be fired a few times till they achieve adult dedication. Some never achieve this. The difference is, in the real world, job openings are a dime a dozen. In racing - not so much. Wishing her good luck moving forward.

It’s a process. You got it. I’d love to get into racing but I have this rare eye disease that prevents me from doing a lot of things but watching the races, listening to those engines roar keeps me going.

That first thing you said in this video about set up is what Dale Earnhardt did. Set up to where his car wasn’t the best at the start but towards the end he was up front.

This wreck happened so fast that I see no way braking slow turning left would have avoided it (even if the thought process is correct), so don't beat yourself up for that one. These trucks shot up fast. The pit road exit certainly matters everywhere but moreso, the larger the race tracks. Bad Luck. I would not overthink this one too much and clear the mind and dont let this frustration carry over.
