I agree this is the best version of this wonderful song. Maybe Josh Groban does it better technically, but having the female voice makes it better for me and Celine does this the best of any artist out there.
You aint lying. Her voice fits this song perfectly and her voice in that building just makes it much more haunting. She had to take a moment after she hit
that last note to make sure the building had settled back on its foundation because that place may not have withstood another high note from her.

Some doctors have given her some hope that with treatment, she can sing again, we have to keep believing in that positivity. There is no cure for SPS but with therapy, symptoms can be controlled so fingers crossed she's be back on stage when she is better. 🤞🤞

Without a doubt, she is the most versatile female vocalist EVER. It really is sad that her career may be over due to her health issue. She is one of a kind.

@@michaelf8702 This isn't true at all. The John Hopkins Center says for those with advanced symptoms of the illness, if left untreated, can die within 3-6 years. However, for those who catch it early and are hit hard with good and effective treatment, life expectancy doesn't really change. Her diagnosis is shocking enough, people don't need lies being spread about its severity on top of that.
@@adamsamess2163 I'm sorry, I didn't realize we knew just how early it was caught & her prognosis. I was just saying it MAY be over in a few years based on the severity of the condition.
I've never really been a fan of Celine Dion, although I can truly appreciate the immense gift of her talent. Just not really my cup of tea. HOWEVER, this is my absolute favorite Christmas song (and, like, I'm Jewish, so... just saying...) and I have truly never heard anyone sing it better. Just beautiful. Stunning, even. You need to listen to David Phelps version. Nothing against this version but I think his is THE BEST.

Martina McBride's version, acapella especially, is one that I always gravitated towards. I love this song and Celine hits those notes beautifully, but I wish it was a tad bit faster.
Celine put in a strong effort on this one and there are plenty of good versions of this song over the years but nobody and I mean nobody sang it even close to Josh Groban if you ask me.

Once I heard this beautiful song done by Celine Dion, I never cared to hear it by anyone else. She owns this. Thank you so much for reacting to it. I haven't heard news of her, but whatever is going on with her, I pray for the best.
She has been diagnosed with something called "stiff person syndrome". I had never heard of it before. It is apparently extremely rare. It has affected her voice. That's all I have heard.

It's a dreadful neurological condition that in its most severe foem can be fatal within a couple of years
I weep everytime I hear this rendition by Celine. And it reminds me to pray for her as she struggles with her debilitating illness.

OMG - This is one of my favorite Christmas carols and with Celine's version I always get chills up and down my spine and goosebumps @ 4:55 when she belts "Christ is the Lord!". Just something about that verse and her delivery just touches my heart and soul that I feel I want to weep, and often times do, when I hear it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

The thing that always blows me away about Celine is not just her incredible power - but how she so absolutely perfectly exits those power notes with incredible ease after a 10 second peak.

I have tears listening to that! I've never heard Celine Dione sing this before. Just magnificent! BTW, Jay, what she was doing with her jaw is called vibrato. Some singers do it on purpose, for others it's unconscious. I'd say Celine can turn it on and off at will. I truly hope that her treatments are successful.
According to my genealogical research, Celine is a very distant cousin from early French-Canadian ancestry (otherwise known as New France). That is enough to give me an automatic liking for her music, but my God can that lady sing! God has blessed her with one of the most beautiful voices on Earth and blessed all who are fortunate enough to hear it. This piece is one of my favorite Christmas songs on top of all that - it makes my heart swell. Amber's reaction, with the misty eyes and swooning, made my eyes water.

To this day, I'm still stunned that a voice like hers can exist.
We were trained musicians when we were young. My one sister went on to become a trained singer and pianist at the master level. When she sang this on Christmas Eve at Midnight Mass I was dumbfounded. Her range was glorious. I looked forward to "Oh Holy Night" every Christmas Eve Midnight Mass..it was a family tradition. We would go home to cold pull toffee ", hot cocoa and sing alongs. Celine is by far one of the best female singers ever to grace this planet, and I love her rendition of this song. There was a little Filipino girl that grew up in poverty that absolutely adored Celine and always wanted to sing with her. By nothing more than a miracle, this actually happened. She sang on stage with Celine at Madison Square Garden. The little girls name is Charice (or at least was, more on that at another time). Please check out her rendition of Oh Holy Night. I had the privilege of seeing Céline Dion in concert twice just as she was starting to become a big deal in the English-speaking world (she was already huge in Quebec, Canada, as a teen). One of the purest, most powerful voices in recording history. I don't always love her song choices, but that voice elevates everything she touches. If you want to check out one of her lesser known songs, but one I think is the best she's ever done, have a listen to With This Tear, written for her by Prince. Beautiful, tragic, glorious song. All the best to her as she struggles through some challenging times.

Celine has such amazing control on EVERY single note! With other singers you can pick up on little mistakes, especially on long-held notes. Not with Celine. Crisp. Clear. And not a hint of fading out. Only a very few can hold a light to Celine!

Growing up I only ever heard the traditional version of O Holy Night out of a hymnal in church. When I bought her Christmas cd and I heard this version of O Holy Night I was blown away. It's so beautiful. I also love her version of O Come All Ye Faithful. You guys should listen to all the tracks. In my opinion, I think it's one of the best Christmas albums ever released.

His voice will bring anyone to tears and is one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. His power and control is insane , the piano is unmatched, and with the choir behind him will blow you away. 6:04 Years ago, I tried to find a version of this song that had this note without some vocal gymnastics done to it. I listened to probably 10-15 versions and was disappointed until I heard this one. This long held note here is why this is my favorite version of O Holy Night.
