    Bought an AC200 Max for my RV a year ago based on your recommendations. Having the ability to run the entire RV and the AC just on the battery makes boondocking MUCH easier; I boondocked the whole summer in the PNW with it. I recently bought the EB3A for my Overlanding build (also based on your recommendations) and it has been serving me well. Just purchased an electric blanket (also based on your recommendations.... see a pattern yet? lol) for winter overlanding. Keep the videos coming, ive learned alot from you over the past few years.

    I thought about buying the Bluetti AC200, instead I bought two Bluetti AC180s. The price was about the same and the total watt-hours was a tiny bit more. I don’t need the extra available peak wattage or the extra solar charging capability. The advantage is I can charge one AC180 in the sun while I’m parked in the shade with the fridge running on the other AC180. The weight is manageable with an AC180. Plus if one broke down, I’d still have another.

    Just to clear up some confusion, the ac200max has a 2200w inverter, and 2048wh battery, and 900w pv input. The ac200p has a 2000w pc input, 2048wh battery and 700w pv input. The ac200l has a 2400w inverter, 2048wh battery and a 1200w pv input. Compared to the ac200max, the ac200l has a 200w more power, not 400w. Also, both the ac200max and ac200l takes both b300 and b230 batteries, however only the ac200l supports also the new upcoming b210 batteries.

    I have an AC 180 and it may only have an 1800 watt inverter; I find it the best for living out of a small trailer. I can lift it and I really only use it with my inverter microwave and my Dash mini appliances. If you want the biggest you can lift comfortably take a look at the AC180.

      Nice. I was just looking at one of these on Amazon for like 44% off I think was. One thing... This isn't big enough to run a small AC though is it? I run hot and would like to run a small AC off whatever one I buy. Which may add considerable cost. I appreciate any input. Thanks 😊

      No, the AC180 is not big enough to run an AC. Though it is big enough to run a small microwave and most kitchen appliances. The AC200 would run an AC, but most likely not all night long.

    I’ll vouch for Bluetti. Got an EB3A a few years ago, just to see what the hype was about. They said what it did, and it did what they said. That gave me the confidence to invest in something more substantial, so I got an AC180 along with a couple of their PV200 panels. But I still needed a bit more capacity. The AC180 is expandable, but during their recent Father’s Day sale, I got an AC70 for less than a B80 expansion battery. Now I am a thoroughly satisfied customer. The Bluettis always impressed me with their efficiency, consistency and performance under full load or surge conditions. Although I can’t comment on their customer service or aftersales care because I never had to use them, even after three units and three years of ownership, that in itself is a positive. Anyways, if you’re on the fence about getting any model of Bluetti, I can tell you in good conscience to just go for it!

    My Bluetti ac200 max will run my rv A/C but it eats up the juice real fast. I had a "soft start" put in my A/C unit. I notice a difference in how soon I can start up my a/c without killing the onboard gas generator. Before the soft start I had to wait at least 10 minutes before starting the a/C or it would kill the generator. I may do more boondocking this coming summer and try using the a/c by plugging in the bluetti to my 30 amp rv. I'm told the soft start will make my a/c unit last longer. I don't know.

    2400 watts = 120V x 20A. 20A is the biggest circuit you'll have in typical residential electrical outlets (they are 15A or 20A). There are bigger circuits of course, but I'm talking about typical 120V outlets. So, it makes sense that a 2400W inverter would run every single thing designed to be plugged into a standard outlet, but maybe in some cases anything less wouldn't.

    I bought the 200L and the PV420 panel. I don’t have an RV yet but I have a big Iceco fridge/freezer in the bed of my truck. The Iceco sips power at 40w, the panel charges the 200L at over 300w. They are great units. However, Bluetti loves show the 200L outside on the ground and on tables, but doesn’t offer a protective cover. I searched every rolling toolbox and it only fits inside one- the Rigid 2.0 rolling toolbox. With a dremel tool, I surgically removed side and front panels, covered the inside with thin sheets of foam, and now I have an armored, heavy duty case I have the 200L in! What’s more is the Rigid 2.0 box has a removable hand truck wheel set I can pop on and off to easily wheel it around. And one last thing- I found a 2000w generator rain cover with Velcro flaps for ports that fits it like a glove! It looks, works, travels, store and wheels around absolutely perfectly!

    For God's sake never turn on Power Lifting mode except with a purely resistive load like a space heater, hot plate, or hair dryer. Surge current is automatic and does not require any special settings. The inverter will supply >3600W for 0.5s, 3600W for 5s, 300W for 2min.

  • @livinginthenow
    @livinginthenow Před 7 měsíci +2

    There is no doubt that Bluetti makes damn good power stations, and the smaller ones add a great deal of convenience to your life. But at $1,699 (with the current coupon on amz), plus $400 for solar panels, it costs about $1000 more than it does to get separate batteries, solar panels, cables, inverter, fuse boxes, etc. to build your own electrical system. And it's $1500 more if you *don't* have a coupon! This is simply not attainable to folks like me who find themselves looking into vanlife because they are living on a fixed income. I get that it's easier because it's basically plug and play, but there are plenty of books and videos that teach you how to set up a system yourself. And even if you fork over a couple hundred to pay someone to install a system for you, it will still end up costing you a whole lot less than a larger Bluetti power station and solar panels. Excellent product, but a poor choice for folks who need to be frugal.

    You really need a much bigger system... If you have a Bluetti AC 300 system with 2 external batteries hooked up, you get 6144 watt hours. That's enough to run a space heater for about 4 hours. a space heater to keep you warm at night uses 1500 watts per hour at high setting... If you really want to make it last all night, you can put it on medium, use 750 watts per hour, and make it last potentially 8 hours, BUT you can't really power anything else...

    Power lifting mode is NOT for running AC. Also the DC output on this is 48 volts, so a step-down add-on is required to hook into typical van or RV DC system. These details are critical. With all respect to Bob, from whom I have learned a great deal, this was a sloppy review.
