For what this figure does, I’m happy with it. It’s probably the nostalgia from my childhood but I do feel like the original still holds today even with all the gimmicks. Just wish these armada figures came with their mini-cons.
I totally agree on the minicon companions. Hasbro f'd up on that one but I think they are going to fix that in the future. I also think they would have had more success with the micromasters/battlemasters/targetmasters if they had been sold with their larger companion bots or paired with larger bots in general, and didn't make stupid gun modes out of the micromasters.
This is the best Megatron figure of 2023!!
Fun fact: he scales well in robot mode with old armada tidalwave at least robot mode. Very similar scale to the later half of the show

I was so happy to get this figure i always wanted the Original. Never got it so when i saw this in Walmart i was like mine.
I don’t have a personal connection to this version of Megatron, but this figure does looks cool in both modes. I am very disappointed by the frequent appearance of forearm gaps nowadays, especially at this price-point. I completely agree that they should be covered by flaps or they should slide in and out, like the G1 figures.
Would be awesome since we’re getting things like antagony in Gen selects/legacy now if we can get megazarak from this guy.
Galvatron is gonna be mainline so that opens the doors wide for him!
Great review. I reviewed megatron awhile back. He’s amazing. I can’t wait to get my hands on armada Optimus prime.
I do find that Studio Series Gamer Edition Cliffjumper's sword makes for a decent recreation of the blade gimmick that the original had. So, if you don't like the sword that comes with Cliffjumper, you can give it to this guy.
I got mine two days ago, I really like It, looks fine with Optimus Armada Legacy.
If I was collecting armada figures, this would definitly be in my collection, I think he's a good size, and scales really well. Great review, and I can`t wait for you to toyhax this guy!

Pretty sure with the legacy armada that we will get retools of armada prime to nemesis armada prime, armada megatron to armada galvatron, hotshot to upgraded hotshot and armada starscream to armada thundercracker. Too bad these legacy armada line do not include minicons except with upgraded hotshot that has jolt
The orange gun that sticks up in tank mode is for robot mode.

I really like this update but DNA must fix his shoulders (it's possible, someone already did 3d printed prototype that allows whole shoulders to move), panels to fill arms, solid plastic horns and tip of the cannon (how they are bended if nothing pushed them in the box?).

It looks awesome, but I am disappointed in it as well.

I am totally fine and happy the figures don't have all those gimmicks anymore. The gimmicks are the main thing that turned me away from the figures for so many years. The gimmicks more often than not got in the way of articulation, show accurate design, and scale with other figures from the same line. I think the gimmicks do have a place still, but not in a line that is catering to children and collectors with differing tastes in their figures. I think the basic fully articulated vehicle to robot figures we've been getting since Siege and now in Legacy are perfect to cater to everyone.
I decided to pass on this figure, too much money for nothing special. I don't like the Turret hanging off the back and the arms being immobile, I never watched Armada so I don't have a connection with it like some

I wasn't a big fan of the cartoon, but I loved the Original figure, so I had to check this one out.
