- Sarah, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Apprentice: Launch and Change Control
In the summer of 2020, Sarah moved from Leeds to start her Apprenticeship in Launch and Change Control at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood. Since then, Sarah’s been getting involved in many important and technically challenging projects. Her personal highlight was spending time at the Millbrook Proving Ground, one of the world’s leading automotive testing centres, to witness the final pre-launch tests for the company’s new pinnacle product, Phantom Series II.
Sarah also teamed up with her fellow Apprentices to set up a new Apprentice Network. This fantastic initiative gives apprentices working in different roles and departments across the BMW Group a way to connect, share experiences and insights and build their professional links and contacts.

How to make my dream come true and work at Rolls Royce? 😍
RR: Let your apprentices drive the actual cars! So many industries are investing in training up the new generation without bothering to actually allow them access to the products. Top line herbal boutiques in los angeles employ great people with encyclopedic knowledge of the herbs, but the herbalists don't take the products themselves. It's preposterous. RR will advance rapidly by allowing your people to actually daily drive the vehicles. The insights you'll glean from your team having daily real world experience will go far beyond the esoteric thoughts of a few engineers who do not have hands on wheel time in a Rolls. Not just "Oh, we did an ice drifting team building challenge," but, we let them struggle with sitting in rush hour traffic every single day, we let them experience parking them in the TESCO parking lot for grocery shopping, real logistical problems. The younger generations will blow your mind with insights and details that your design team never thought about.
