A tutorial on how to install ReShade & ILM to upgrade the graphics of SWG Legends. This is a re-upload of the original video which wasn't displaying at 1080p for some reason.

I just downloaded this because I missed out on it and it looks like what I've been looking for in a mmo in the star wars world.
Glad you uploaded this. Ive spent a long time learning this on my own, reading the various readmes and so on. But if youre unfamiliar with using mods etc, this can be a daunting task. I'll be sharing this link with a friend of mine and I know he's really going to appreciate your tutorial. Thanks Nap!

Yeey! Really glad to see you use this. Not everyone cares about the graphics but they certainly help with the impression people get of the game. Personally can't even consider not using ILM. The normal colors are just so off and the textures are so muddy. One other tip is perhaps to turn on the volumetric shadows as well as you only have those simplistic ones toggled. Your pc may take a hit, they're not perfect but they add a lot to the game when they work well and together with ILM it makes the game look at least 10 years younger. And they're in the base game already!
P.S: The ILM guide says "EXTRACT SWG RESHADE_V_3_4.RAR INTO YOUR MAIN SWG DIRECTORY" which for them means that you should be extracting THE CONTENTS of that folder inside the main directory and therefore the reshade2 folder directly. That eliminates the extra step you added.

Can confirm this guide worked for me, though don't do what I did and install every shader pack it offers "just to see what they are" because you absolutely won't want to use 90% of them even for novelty or photos. Take the basic shaders pack and the cinematic one and that will still give you way more viable shaders than you would want to use.

The only time I've used reshade was with KOTOR and I felt like it didn't do much. But wow, this feels like a new game! thanks for the guide!
I guess with older games it makes a bigger difference!
You can see alot more of your cockpit in first person view, is there a separate FOV slider for ships versus ground?

I was wondering. I know that ILM isn't supported on the launcher anymore. But is there still a way to get it to work in game if one where to find a download of it? If not, would you know of any mods that perhaps make the world terrain textures (Such as sand on Tattooine) look somewhat better? Thanks in advance my guy.

Not sure if they fixed it, but you can't see/access the new Jedi temple themepark unlock area with ILM on. Just a warning!
For some reason when I use these mods the floors of the Starport are chrome with no textures...

what about latest reshde update? 4.9.1, tried it but its instal standart package auto and when i tried copy reshade-sahders folder give me error at screen when i try to install "ILM3.EXE" .
any tutorial for that?

I did this, and it's "working"...BUT it made my game insanely dark and looks...grainy? Yours looks better, any idea what could be wrong on my end? Can't seem to find any answers. My game is still set to the default brightness/gamma in-game. /shrug

Just started playing this game and absolutely loving it. The graphics update makes it look really beautiful. Has anyone noticed, though, that when the ambient light (second box) is ticked in the reshade settings, you get this slightly grainy overlay and scratches appear on the screen? I have a brand new laptop and the screen is definitely not damaged in any way, and when I uncheck ambient light the scratches disappear. Strange. Ambient light looks nice but the scratches are annoying. Turned it off for now but it would be nice to fix it.
I followed your install to the fullest but I don't have the reflections on the floor in starport and some graphics seem to make the game look janky or too dark to see any detail. Tried toggling a few of the settings to play around with and got it to an ok level but reflections are still a hit and miss and none in starport so dont know if I've done something wrong or the install was incorrect. Any ideas? :)
I am in the same boat. No reflections on the Starport floor and I am not even sure I have good textures in space or sky. Did you figure it out?
When I go into the game it loads in the graphics and prints an error saying that it cannot retrieve all the textures from the file.
Make sure you gave the correct path to where the reshader files. It has to be exact or it won't work.
cant find the ILM mod anywhere.
I wouldn't use the launcher to install ReShade personally. Just go to reshade.me/ and download the latest version. 4.7.0 is the latest version as of this comment.

Just open your graphics card setting. In game settings add swgemu. Turn everything to override, max ot all out. DONE. no download req
BTW it looks better than this cause it not just an overcoat, its changing the way the game renders. Instead of the client telling the card how to render, the card renders the graphics by its own settings. It looks like a different game.

I know this video is a little old but if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. It seems like everything works for me except the reflections off the floors, specifically like in the space port. I can't figure out why everything else would work but that. I also don't have all the same options to toggle in the Reshade menu. I tried installing version 4 of ReShade but that just made things even more funky...it gave me two separate ReShade menus when I hit shift+F2. My game still looks a hell of a lot better imo, but it's just kind of bugging me that I don't have the reflections. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.
It's bugging me too. No reflections on the floor. I'm also not sure if I have the correct textures for space or in the sky. Any comparison screenshots anywhere? I wish I knew what is not working. I think I do have improved textures from ILM, and reshade appears to do stuff, but I am not savvy enough to know what I am missing.
I've never been able to get this to work. I can use the in game reshader menu to mess with visual settings but it does nothing to the graphics. I've adjusted the pathing a million times for the textures and shaders. I also moved the folder to the swg directory.
I've also tried uninstalling everything and physically removing all associated files and downloading it directly from the reshader site. It simply will not change my textures. The only effect I get is the mirror effect on the floor in the starport.
