Black flag imo is still better given the fact that you actually stumble around when running in the water. Black flag was so ahead of its time. Ever since syndicate released, all the AC games turned to crap. Origins, odyssey, and especially Valhalla, all don't even feel like AC games anymore. Now it's just an open world with some charcter you play as. There's barely any assassins or talk of the association. It's juts "grab axe and kill"

I still can't believe how good the animation blend is when running in water in ac3 and 4. There's at least 3 different animations for both walking and running and they flow perfectly. This also happens when running on land, the movements are so fluid
The original Assasins Creed will always be my favorite. If you replay it, you'll see just how much of the storyline they already had planned in the first game. And those graphics back then were amazing. I played it on the Xbox 360 when it first came out.

Fun fact: If you walk slow entering in the water with Connor, he will slowly put his fingers on the water, as if he wanted to feel it, I don't know if the other protagonists do this but I found it interesting
