      Mike Warren & Hap Richards both hosted live children's shows. Great to hear Dana Hersey too! Thanks for showing all the CT stations, I liked hearing WVIT's 2 translator stations, back in the day that was the only way to get a UHF signal into other areas.

    Some of these sign offs from CT are from the 1970's. WATR Ch. 20 in Waterbury would later become WTXX when it became independent. CPTV sold its Ch. 61 frequency to Arch Communications Corp. in the early 80's which then used it to start WTIC as an independent (later FOX) station.

    Nice video 👍. At least I got to see a WVIT sign off from before 1984, that sign off is my favorite.
    By the way, do you happen to have sign off videos from either WXTV or WNJU-TV from the same era as the first few sign offs at the beginning of the video? Just wondering.

    • @DELLTelevision
      @DELLTelevision  Před 2 lety +3

      Sorry I do not. These stations were local to me, and I waited for them to go off the air so that I could receive stations broadcasting from out of my area which were using the same channel. I recorded these sign-off's back in the day as proof I was able to receive these stations over an antenna from the NYC area.

      I got cable in 1978 and when I came home from school WXTV would sign on at 3:00 pm and I would watch it because I was talking Spanish in high school. I still remember some of the sign-on.

      Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, DC, Virginia. All received by me back in the 80's from an outdoor antenna. My location at the time was NJ about 12 miles west of NYC.

      @@DELLTelevision Despite there being CT's stations, including both channel 20's, the one from WJAR in Providence is my favorite of the bunch...1) It has the late great Art Lake doing the announcement and almost like Columbia, SC's WIS-TV [also on ch.10] and 2) the way that "10" was like a chroma key when the national anthem film came up. Ironically, it's one that WLNE channel 6 would use in the later 80's. By the way...got any more?

      I wish. These were all received from the New York Metropolitain area by antenna. Most of these channels are outside of the normal NY viewing area and were received only because the atmospheric conditions were good that night.
