Who's listening to this in 2024 as they were in early 1969?
I was 5, but I remember listening to this in the car with my Daddy, driving down Lake St. By the park in the summertime...☺
@@tracyturner1634was 9. Summer represented freedom. Free from parental restrictions, etc.
I am hear because of a beer commercial. I could not think of the name or group. But the music came easily to this old 74-year old brain.
This is making my day, right now 5-6-2024!! Who's with me❤
Yes sir , It’s been one of all time great sounds. If anyone doesn’t love this album 💿 we it’s not the music!!!
I am a firm believer that this wonderful music should be used and prescribed in the treatment for people that suffer from depression.
I remember my Mom blasting this when I was a kid. Brings back so many good memories. I'm 70 years old and it makes me feel young.
I remember Holt Young with Ramsey Lewis trio. Loved this song
Brought back fond memories and appreciation for Jazz
Still listening to this in 2023
I'm 63 years old now and wish we could all go back to those days
Just turned 65 and enjoying the many versions of this song...
To me it is laid back and rocks ....anytime anywhere
You know a song is good when you can listen to it for 50 years and still love it just as much as ever.
So many classics transcend time, although I'm partial to classic rock. Great music stands the test of time. Don't believe me, listen to Mozart for 5 minutes
I’m a 71 year old man listening to this beautiful melody and dreaming back, with a tear and a smile. 🙂🥲❤
same here at 66 miss this music and those who are not here. We be out clubbing what memories.
Need to have more views, but just the people with real good taste in music are here!! We are blessed😊
60s,70s,80s, Music at it's best, chillax, relax, and be taken to another place. Days gone by.
I AM I WAS A KID WHEN THIS CAME OUT I AM NOW 67 YEARS OLD LOVED IT THEN AND STILL DO
As I said my Father, Best Friend & Brother were into jazz and was crazy about it, I'm turning 70 soon and I may have heard it easily a million times
one of the 60's greatest instrumentals.
Soulful Strut is timeless
Sitting at the cemetery visiting my dad here on Father’s Day 6-16-24 as his song comes on this was his absolute favorite song! RIP Dad 🙏🏼♥️
Love this song. What great memories! Turning a young 70 on Saturday. Thanks for the music, super special, nothing like this now. 😊
Just heard this in the background of a Vision Express tv advert & immediately I knew what it was called. Being a teen in the 70’s this music was my favourite style. Love it. 💕
Meu tbm! Amo ouvir música que me lembre adolescência só não sabia o nome dessa linda música, mas tinha ela na cabeça.
Who on this blue earth needs drugs when there is fantastic music like this?? Takes me to another level right away.
No other instrumental brings me back to 1968 like this one. Then in 1992 the Swing Out Sister made lyrics with the song Am I The Same Girl to which I discovered that it was Barbara Acklin who sang it in 1968.
Soulful Strut is a baaaad jam!!!.Yes sir!!🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

The Musicians have Spoken! Love it!
OMG!!! One of my favorite songs in the 70s and lost track of it. Today, on my 78th birthday, I see this and I'm strutting around my kitchen!! Thank you!!
“Get up and groove, move your body to a timeless piece.
I fell in love with this music as a small child, and still love it over 50 years later! Here's to quality🎉!!
This is truly a classic, released in 1968 and still kicking !!!!! Every time I hear this tune it puts a smile on my face and brings back memories!!!
Makes me wanna jump for joy.
One of the most beautiful and exquisite masterpieces ever made. I'm 67 and still loving it in 2024.
i consider myself lucky because when i was young , great songs like this were heard regularly on car radios coast to coast . great times .
Perhaps the coolest jazz piece I've ever heard...the sax player is the ultimate hipster.
Oh yes I am Jan 18 2024 Great Song👍🎼
This band could play its heart out and do it like no one else could even try. Even upcoming singers cannot supersede this song, no matter what they do or how hard they try.
@@darryl-hv1cjThat is right. I never heard of "autotune." I wonder if it could include "lip synchronizing," also called "lip-synching." Otherwise, thank you for typing to me.
I heard this tune playing in my head 2 months ago. Could not remember the name of the song. So I called one of my sisters that taught me how to slow dance. I was 16 she was 15 and always kept up with the latest Groves back then . My sisters and I are all 71 70 and 69 yrs old and retired. Well my middle Could not remember so we called our youngest sister and she laughed at me. I put my phone down for two hrs and suddenly this song came across my feed . So now I'm sitting here listening to this bad Ass groove.
Beautiful music,I grew up on this.
In 1968....my first year in high school and the marching band.......we played this........
As did we in marching band in Cheney Washington in 1980....Torchlight Parade. Have a great '24
In 1969, I had a band composed of Antilles High School students in Fort Buchanan, PR. We opened our prom with this song, thinking it would be an excellent icebreaker. The dance floor got jam-packed. The final request, you gussed it! The students and their parents put all the tables away and dance their hearts away! What a way to end the night!
I want to take piano lessons again to just play this.
Oh yes when music was just amazing . Chalked full of super talented musicians who played songs exactly like this one......oh how lucky I have been to have grown up in this era compared to today...
Excellant tune!!!It has been with me now for over 50 years, never left..speaks volumes.
Brings back memories of late 60s when I was in the 5th grade. 😊
This is the type of groove you cruise down the freeway on a warm sunny day, having a convertible makes the road a lot smoother.
Instrumental music is OUTSTANDING!
YOU JUST CANT STOP LISTENING TO THIS AMAZING MUSIC GOD HOW BRILLIANT IS THIS
I needed to hear something uplifting from my happier past days in a better country than we have now. Had this on my mind all day long today.
One of the coolest songs ever.!! made
It's impossible to listen to this song TOO MANY times in a row !! ( or to play it TOO LOUD)
It could be that it is not enough to listen to this song so many times in just one listening. Also, this song is my favorite.
This is always on my smooth jazz playlists 🏆🏆🏆

Wonderful, I remember what a classic soul groove this was , the late 60s was the most soulful period of pop music of the day
My mom had an album from the 60s she gave me without this song and some my Jackie Wilson. As a five year old I loved this song.

Absolutely beautiful rendition of a timeless musical piece! I can listen to these stunning musicians all day long playing this song!
Oh my goodness! What great memories! There were summer teen dances held in a local park during the day. Lot’s of kids from our school, we would come to dance, hang out etc.. They played this song I was like, “this is such a cool song”. I was 16, first time I appreciated instrumentals like Hugo Montenegro’s The good, the Bad and the Ugly. I know…16? Weirdo before my time. Lol! I chalk that up to my older sis who introduced me to such great music like The Shirelles, The Ronnetts and all the super greats from the ‘60’s. I am 70 now, and wouldn’t trade my age for the world! Memories and rock n roll are FOREVER!!
67 yrs old and still one of my all-time favorites! This song just makes me smile and feel like groovin'!
I love this instrumental song. I play it every time I can. It never gets old.
Oh wow this takes me way way back💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🎵🎵🎵🥰still sounding good in 2024
❤❤❤❤ Still good 2023
SOulfult strut was one of the first records I purchased (well, I didn't actually pay for it as I was 9 years old, but one of the first where I made the decision to buy it). Alas, I no longer have the single, all of my records from the 60s (and some more recent ones) were lost/stolen by movers when I moved from NYC to LA in 1976 😢 At least I have the mp3 now
I am! 71 years old. Love this so much!
Swingout sister covered in the eighties. A masterpiece both ways.
