Still here in 2024 been listening to jarren since gradmas basement and through funk vol era
If an FV reunion tour was announced with Hop, Dizzy, Jarren, SwizZz, Hoppa and Kato there isn't a chance on earth I'd miss that show even if I had to travel to another state
Drop the ones who got beef just give me Hopsin dizzy and Jarren unless hop and dizzy got beef. I always heard it was just swizzz his brother and hoping
â@El.Sasquatcho69 honestly i haven't cared about SwizZz musically in a long while. He'd be the one that could sit out and I wouldn't even notice
I'd drop my life savings and file bankruptcy to make that show
â@@MosarieMusicyall never gave SwizZz his respect man. Like it or not he's Funk Volume 4 life
ay im still bumping FV you guys were so strong coming out DAYUM... I was wondering what happened definitely giving this a listen much love guys
đŻđŻđŻ
Jarren blew my fuckin mind the first time I heard him. Seen him at the gathering and they cut off his set so he jumped in the crowd. He deserves his flowers.
Still remember this. It was WILD.
Out of all of FV I feel that Jarrens music aged the best. I've been thinking about checking out his new music for a minute now, will go do it now.
Yea Dizzy and Hop both have 2 mid projects each
Dizzy is new album is great tho just dropped
Iâve been waiting for this video for too long. đ„ Filling some type of void right now.
đŻđŻ
I still hear Kkkkato on the track in my playlist constantly. Can't wait for the new stuff!!
Agreed
If you havnt heard anything he is doing now tuned up is really good
Was 21 when I started following Hop n Swizzzz. Watched the entire FV movement start to finish. The very first time they came to Iowa City it was just Hopsin, Dizzy, Swizzzz and Hoppa. After that show I made it a goal to meet them and develop a relationship artist to artist. And thatâs exactly what I fuckin did.
Next 3 times any of em came back (which was mainly Dizzy, Demrick, Hoppa and Jarren) I opened for em đȘđŒđ€
Developed a relationship with Dizzy and Demrick. Been tryna work with Kato personally for a min. We did online as far as me buying his beats and showing what I did to em. Heâd respond everytime with both positive and constructive feedback.
Learned a lot from yâall, especially the independent aspect.
Next goal is a song with Dizzy and DemrickâŠand Iâm in the process of making that happened rt now đŻ They both reached back and said âletâs do itâ.
Thank yâall for the knowledgeâŠbut most of all THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC YALL HAVE GIFTED US!
Man FV was a big part of getting me through my darkest times, Iâm glad I got to see the FV wave when they were in their primes.. I also got a chance to meet them right before they broke up it was a moment Iâll always cherish. â€
That's what I'm doing now
Definitely watching this during my shift đ itâs nice to see you guys still doing what youâre doing. I really miss that funk volume era itâs one of the key moments that made me wanna rap.
I'll say this, I think you two should continue to make podcasts together. I definitely would pay top dollar for a chance to see y'all play any kind of music but this has been a treat đ€đ»
Drugged out crazy Jarren Benton music is all I want đđ
Itâs dope to see when teammates can still build with each other after all ups and downs.
Stll here. This interview was great. I will be here for whatever you guys release.
Good luck with everything guys. Iâll support whatever you guys got going on. Thank you for keeping it real! đ
I miss hearing Jarren with Kato. He has such a clear voice with so much pronunciation and it pairs so well with Kato
Definitely agreed
Yall changed my life trajectory all corniness aside. Independant livin for real
Jarren Benton has always been my favorite artist on Funk Volume and I hope he works with Spittzwell and 8track again. Everything Jarren and Kato do together is đ„đ„đ„
This was great! Been a fan since Grandma's Basement. Regardless of all that has happened, y'all guys came a long way and there ain't no taking that back from you. Your generation of artists made me fall in love with hip-hop again, back when I felt everything was so mediocre and saturated. I'll be waiting on that new Kato x Benton like the 2nd coming of that era. Grand Salute
I saw yall perform at the FV tour at the Worcester Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts and Joyner Lucas was the opening act. That was maybe, 6 months before Joyner blew up. Think about thisâŠ
I was a young, aspiring rapper who had a fiendish need for underground concerts. I went to the FV show and saw Joyner, Jarren, Dizzy then Hopsin.
You fellas spoiled your fanbase, forreal! Congrats on your incredible run and salute to your next run. Loved the interview.
Man, this is great video! Thanks fellas! I did 5 shows in Canada with Jarren in 2018, and dude is second to none as a live performer. I learned a lot observing that first hand. Grateful af for that
Facts we booked him in 22 I think it 21, and they still talk about his performance lol
This was neededđïž
As outlandish as you can get for this next one. đ„
Saw you in Boston, hearing Gimme the Loot live was some of the illest shit ever. Pumped to hear what y'all create.
Local buzz is the best buzz, having that is so powerful
These guys rock. Stick around. 100% all in. Nurgle Bless. See you on tour.
Kato and Jarren Benton on the track, man. Great Guys. Thanks for the review. This is big. Enjoying it.
Jarren in Indy 2021 was the best live show I've ever been to no question. Shit was so much fun the energy was electric
Yooo str8 gas âœïž đ glad to hear yall cutting it up like the old times, we needed Kato an jarren back regardless if your making Disney cover music or underground cancelation music đ€Łâ ïž yall are hot balls of spitfire
Always down for some Hop, Jarren, SwizZz and Dizzy can't argue that. Boys made some golden tunes
This was cool, been listening to Jarren since 2014 đ„
We need more stuff like this from y'all!
We need a jarren Benton x Kato on the track Album ! Super producer Ă crazy rapper = Dope Album
Kato beats hard ASF and when kato and jarren Benton link up its banger after banger
Good to hear whats gone on behind scenes all these years. Been followin everyone since 2012-13. Still bump the new and old at 41!
Fucking love these two legends. Enjoyed the pod ! Hope they keep doing these
So nostalgic, itâs been about 12-13 years since I started listening to FV in middle school and Iâm also married with two kids lmao. Love yâall.
glad that i know more bout the FV history
This is so overdue but I'm glad to hear your guys takes on the whole thing finally. FV could have been the biggest thing since D12 but it all happened for a reason, I saw you and Jarren back in 2014 or so in Minneapolis and it was one of the best experiences I have had at a show and there was only like 40 of us in the crowd. Thanks for being two of the best artists I have had the pleasure of listening to live
Love this. Brings me back
we needed this fr
This convo is great for all of us. Thanks for uploading!
Itâs never too late to bring FV back! We want that unique fire back
Thank You Both For This!! You Guys Are Great Together!!
Love seeing the friendship is still strong after all these years.
Happy to hear this interview. Salutes
This made my day, just to have these two in a room together!!
†seeing ya guy's back to music.
GREAT conversation between you two!!!! I cant wait to hear what yall cookin up
Love this! Two of the best artists out there! đ„
I love an appreciate every bit of this and will take it as an example in my own similar smaller level situation yall are becoming less of just entertainers and transitioning into leaders
love this conversation gentlemen!!!
"Still Movin'!"
been listening since the gate and still do
We need that new music!!! Yall are the perfect combo man.
I found out funk volume by chance goin thru hopsins older music, but skitzo him home for me and ive been a fan since, yall keep it pushin. Preciate the vibes yall provided and im sure will continue to provide.
Great video! Looking forward to some more music đ„đ„
Here for it
2 legends , keep doing ya thangg
This is awesome to hear. Iâve felt similarly about producing, since Iâve been doing it so long and sometimes I start to have doubts, but itâs about the love at the end of the day.
Funk volume was on the way to very top, it gave me the want to becom an artist myself and now I'm struggling to complete my album after they broke apart, idk why maybe they gave me more motivation then I ever realized
Man I remember when y'all came to abq back in the day.
Copped a FunkVolume hoodie that I still have! Still get compliments till this day! Mad love to y'all! #StayMoving
You guys are the best fucking duo. Can't wait for the new music đ„
Love this content, thanks Kato!
I'll never forget watching the FV group perform in Texas years back. Was like watching a modern age Wu Tang at the time. Managed to snap a pic with everyone separately and all were super nice and respectful. I had mistaken dame for Swizz and he was a lil bent about that but all was good and great vibes. Respect to yall! Still bumpin.
Y'all need to link with Crook. With what he's doing it would be awesome to llok back on FV vs. Horseshoe Gang
This was a dope podcast, I loved FV in middle school so I felt attacked by that comment thođ
the G.D BAND IS BACK TOGETHER BABAY!!! FUCK YES!!!!
The Nas album he talks about is Streets Disciple. I also bought it when it came out. I was in high school.. lol
I still bump all yall music.
Skitzo is still in rotation!
Iâll never forget meeting you guys on My Grandmaâs Basement tour in Columbus. Yâall the inspiration and reason I went on study music. Jarren, please drop Singles Volume 2, and another comedy rap album from you two would be incredible. Peace, thanks for this interview.
A guy made a joke in the comments about a project called "poppin pills with p diddy" thats the kinda shit i wanna hear from jarren some homage to Freebasing and huffing glue. Im cool with anything from these legends but man those were the shit to me in highschool.
đ†thankyou for sharing :)
FV reunion would go insane i think just start it up again.
I watched the whole tour doc like 4 times. I been in the A 9 years and still havenât met you guys!
A "Kato's Basement" themed album would be great.
Hopsin: Yo! Did you leave your friends hanging to start your own music and clothing?
Tyler the Creator: OH YEAH!
Please drop an album for the summerđđđ
Dope
Started out listening to hopsin when sag my pants dropped and went and got his catalog, heard my grandmas basement and had to peep the free basing with kevin bacon too. Been rocking with yall for years. Keep it up! Ps tell hop let me get a feature đđđ
Jarren made soulful music before Kato?!? never expected that
It was dope to c y'all at leathel weekend 6
1:10:50 im stuccđđ... been jamming yall since 2012đŻđŻ
Nostalgic
Yes we need another free basing album
love this. thanks for posting.
There isnât a Jarren or Hopsin track released that I havenât listened to on repeat. I would do insane things for another album with the old crew.
I've always felt like I've felt similarities between jarren, and I now hearing a bit of his story of his recent growth it's still crazy how much I relate and have in common with him.
As hyped as I would be for an FV reunion, I doubt even the fans think it would ever happen đ it was special as all hell while we had it though đđŒđ€đ»đ«Ą
Jarren being anxious for meet and greets makes me feel so much better about myself, did a meet and greet with Dizzy a couple years ago and I was drunk af by time he came out for it đ it didnât help he was almost an hour late for the show cause of traffic
You guys were awesome when you came to Indy for the Yuck Fou tour
Jarren is the Best
My Grandmothers basement is god tier! Need vinyls please
Music videos and a couple big name features would help yâall out a lot
Mainlining with Dustin Diamond
Your Welcome, but Yuck Fou Kato... Thanks for all the music, no ones beating thisđŻđŻ
đ„đŻđ„
Would also love to know more on how the pay worked being an independent artist on funk volume
