Honestly the whole "they should stay pure and single forever so that my fantasies of having a chance aren't crushed" part of idol culture is something I'm not a fan of. If you care about your Oshi, first and foremost you should wish for them to be healthy and happy. For some, that happiness includes finding a soulmate/partner/significant other. It's a completely natural thing. It's great if these people find someone they can be happy with.
With how many talents there are in Holopro its increasingly unlikely that all of them are single but it is sad that announcing that you're not is still seen as a taboo because of obsessive and unhealthy mindsets of some fans.

to be honest, the shift hasn't happened completely yet but it's started. more idols lately have been honest about their dating/marriage status. it's still a taboo topic but is slowly but surely changing. saying every idol fan is reliant on the fantasy of their idol marrying them would be incorrect--many fans just like to see them be cute and could care less. others may feel betrayed, but will find a new oshi shortly after and move on. that doesn't stop the crazy incels tho, like the previous comment said. and the most obsessive fans give the most money and attention so idol agencies would rather the culture shift not happen. just a really touchy matter in general among idol fans
