  • In this video, I will show you how to Season your new Offset Smoker. These techniques will work for any offset smoker you have, and will burn off any factory oils that are remaining from the manufacturing process. The initial burn will also protect your investment from rust.

    As a previous Traeger+ user, I recently switched to Asmoke and I've never looked back. The first thing that caught my eye was the ASCA™ technology. It ensures better cooking results, more efficient cooking, and easier cleaning. The temperature control with the FlameTech patent is also a game-changer. It allows for precise temperature control within 5°F which I find really helpful. The fact that it's lightweight and portable, yet still retains its powerful features, is a major plus. That's not even mentioning the environmental benefits of using wood pellets as a fuel source. Finally, the ability to adjust the temperature remotely and monitor the food temperature via the app has been a real game-changer for me. I can't recommend Asmoke enough! #Asmoke

    Man my grill arrives on April 28th. Today I drove 67 miles away just to snag up a grill cover for it and also I picked up 2 bags of Post Oak logs from Academy. Cause that’s how we roll down here in Texas. I even took a whole day off. Just so I can assemble and season my grill. I’m so ready to smoke a brisket right now. Great video man thank you for doing these tutorials. 👍👍

The pork loin was outstanding and more than made up for the salmon mistake (lol). Going to smoke the Thanksgiving turkey and a ham right next to it next week. It's really a great grill! Thanks again

Also I don't have a chimney starter. I'll have to transfer vials from my old, plain grill manually- with like a shovel... Wish me luck! 🤞

    • @ItsRyanTurley
      @ItsRyanTurley  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey JC! They were running about 30-50ºf under the upper temp gauge. Just like I would expect, as heat rises. There was very little smoke leaking out the main chamber and firebox. Now that it is seasoned, there is almost no noticeable leaking. This unit has incredible temperature retention and easy to manage. Hit me up if I can help... Cheers!

    • @ItsRyanTurley
      @ItsRyanTurley  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey JBell. Thanks for the question. I use a water pan on almost every cook, and I just place it right below the grill grate where the smoke enters from the fire box. I think the placement there helps neutralize the heat, and keep the chamber humid. You can really put a water pan anywhere, but that’s my preferred spot. Cheers!

    Will a canola Oil blend work?

  • @PlanktoniusRex
    @PlanktoniusRex Před 2 měsíci

    Seasoning a grill should be done on the inside and outside. The outside is what is subject to the elements so it is more important than the inside as the inside will soon coat with greasy residue and creosote anyway. It matters not the quality of smoke when seasoning because you are looking for temperature and not taste. Canola oil works great but you need more and a longer cook time. Seasoning my old offset right now for the 48th time in 24 years.
