  • The subtle and dynamic interplay of objects and sounds within an exploration of resonance and frequencies. The duo, Savic and Gordoa invite into a close listening state of auditory perception, where the sound textures and rhythms of everyday found and non-found objects are revealed into a new sonic environment.
    Savic /// Gordoa
Grgur Savic - [prepared alto saxophone, found/ non-found objects]
Emilio Gordoa - [actively regulated speaker system, Max/MSP, found/non-found objects]
    • Savic / / /
Exploring the concept of pneumatics aka "pneumatic press", Savic transforms his instrument - alto saxophone into a closed cylinder regulated by a controlled air pressure system. Incorporating various found and non-found objects in and around the instrument in response to dense pressure shifts, Savic generates mechanical motion which allows him to control the overall force, timbre, and dynamics, causing the instrument pads and added props to vibrate at various speeds and motions, offering new possibilities for exploring frequencies and resonances.
    • Gordoa / / /
Utilizing an actively regulated speaker system controlled via a foot pedal and Max/MSP programming language, Gordoa is redefining the loudspeaker as a sound source through preparations and extended techniques. His continuous research focuses on uncovering refined and unexpected resonances, vibrations, and sounds from multiple found and non-found objects in real time. This exploration spans a variety of dynamic and nuanced auditory experiences, where timbre, dynamic tempo, and close listening take precedence.
