Living here on and off for 23 years, Bangkok has really gotten more commercialized and Westernized. It used to be this lesser known city and as the internet has grown, so has the awareness of Thailand around the globe. We lived in some quiet areas of Jomtien and Pattaya and although it has it's commercialized in this area too, there are more quiet pockets and areas like the darkside and elsewhere to live away from the craziness.
I lived in Seoul 21 years ago. Although I made a bunch of friends pretty quickly and had a pretty good job with a free apartment, I still didn't like South Korea much.

Majority (as before c19) mainlanders just this month they are thirty something ages - before that old people only. Been bleak in the mainland for young people so they think HK is awesome but it’s far removed from what it was. Daily living prices are up but rents seem downward as lots of people leaving. Sam is paying less than 5 percent of my cost!

If it is your choice to live in Thailand, then you must use discretion in your comments. Your older viewers will recommend a PCX while your younger subscribers may recommend a Raider or an Exciter. Hey Keis , info for Nova Dash. It too old for the trip you maybe get trouble with engine or sum plastic leaking. Because they are out of sell from around 1998. I own one fast and fun but they will load your lower back and that not comfotable for a long run (it hurt trust me) and may cost you gasoline billing skyhigh (BC it 2 Stoke). Wave 125i , PCX, NMAX some family bike will solve you that risk. For me Rebel 300 or upper it the choice now day Cruiser help you alot with long run. But if you want to modifier Dash , Hope you get a good condition bike good luck. sorry for my bad english.

Without wishing to sound 'nosey' what do you do for a living ? Also do you have any tips for getting a longer term visa. Am now in a situation where I am seriously considering the move, have done loads and loads of research but the visa's seem to be reliant on a huge bank account. I really don't want to be in a situation where I have to do the 'border runs' to renew the visa but at the moment it looks to be the only way. Over the last 24 years I have averaged 4 visits a year made very easy by staff tickets on an airline. Have made quite a few genuine Thai friends from my very first visit to Koh Samed so I don't feel I would be totally blind as a newbie. Its got my head spinning .... a lot

I am married to a Thai and am applying for a retirement visa. Yes i had to put money in the bank here. The big thing i see is the rules for a long term visa here seem to change quite often. I was told would take about five months originally to receive the retirement visa. Have been here since January and now looks like it may be October before i receive my retirement visa.

@@rondodson5736 Thanks for the reply, its a minefield and marriage doesn't seem to carry much weight. I know a couple of people who do the Cambodia border run but I heard today that the authorities are starting to be a bit more investigative so an official visa is obviously preferable. Hope you get you visa soon

What's the best way to hire an experienced expat travel agent type, or trusty free lancer to set up a 3 month trip to Thailand, with possible multiple extensions?
Also, who to stay away from in the travel business.
      Anybody?

I notice you look quite young, too young to be retired and having a pension to live on. Therefore i am assuming you are making money vlogging to support your current lifestyle. Now my question is if you have moved to Thailand and are living on income you are making for vlogging, then what happens when you get to retirement age ? Do you somehow have a good deal of money put away so you will be able to survive in your old age ? If not working to receive a pension when you get older, how do you plan to survive in your old age ? I moved here after i had retired and luckily i have a very good pension.
