    I'm with you. I absolutely hate the screw in tremlo arm. I changed the bridge in my 60th anniversary Fender stratocaster from the screw in to a Wilkinson pop in tremlo arm with a brass block.

      It's a small thing but imo worth it to have a smoother feeling tremolo without any slop when using it. I have an American Professional Strat too and when playing the two back to back it's so apparent which one feels and operates better. The Wilkinson stuff looks like a good option as well. Pretty low cost on Guitar Fetish.

    Just purchased that very guitar today. Absolutely gorgeous!!! Can't wait!!!! Great video. Thanks I found it very helpful.

      Cool! I really like the guitar. I didn't really have to swap the trem. But it was on sale and I figured it would be a fun project anyway. I have an American Professional too and thought it'd be nice to have them feel about the same when it came to the tremolo arm. I'm glad they brought the rosewood boards back. Overall I think it's a great guitar. No plans to sell it!

    My no.1 is a PRO2. Though I install a mini humbucker at the bridge. The trem is excellent. I'd do exactly what you're doing on the MIM. As a matter of fact, im buying that very guitar. Trem and pup change is all it needs. Just playing the damn thing, is what I've been doing for 40 years. So is making the guitar to my taste is another.
    Great video!

    THANK YOU!!!!! This has been very annoying on my player one and player two Strats!! Bridges are on the way. Awesome and informative content. Sub’d

      Thank you! Glad it helped. Like I mention in the video, for some reason they are sending tips with these that don't actually thread on the tremolo arm. It's weird though because I have a professional strat and the tip does thread on and off. Just a heads up so you don't drive yourself crazy thinking it should thread on (it SHOULD but it doesn't!!!)

      @@pickingpowerlol. I just stripped the stock bar on my player 2. It’s a sign to get the new trem. Thanks again my man

      @@pickingpower got the new bridge. I’m immensely impressed at how much smoother and more functional this bridge is. I’m going to upgrade them all.

      @@anthonyfinch550 Me too. It's so much smoother than the screw in bars.

    I will go directly to a Vegatrem. Expensive, but I guess the best vibrato option available.

      That looks like a cool trem. Something to keep in mind in the future.

    How good does it stay in tune when you use that trem bar??

    Did the new bridge change the sound of the guitar?I was thinking the same thing but i like the old blocksaddles so i would replace it with the American Ultra/Deluxe version.I totally agree with you about the screw in arm.I can’t stand it :)I would also replace the pickup covers and knobs to black.I hate the vintage white Fender puts on everything these days.

    • @pickingpower
      @pickingpower  Před měsícem +1

      I didn't notice any change in sound. The smoothness in the trem arm action is what I notice the most. I have a professional strat too. That's what made me wonder if I could do the swap.

    That was definately unneccesary. I dunno why ppl struggle so much with a stock strat trem. Its so simple. I have multiple bulket squier strats stock, and they simply dont go out of tune

    • @pickingpower
      @pickingpower  Před měsícem +6

      I didn't change it for tuning issues. I changed it because I don't like the screw in type tremolo arms.

      There’s people who play guitar and there’s people who mod guitars. There’s a special place in hell for modders.
      Always trying to make a decent guitar “ better”
      Guess what? You’re never going to find that perfect guitar in your mind. Just play the damn thing.
