    Great reaction, as always, Shane!
Billy Joel is one of my favourite artists, he's a great pianist and a great storyteller. If you listen to "Goodnight Saigon", you will have tears in your eyes. Other Billy's great songs: "Honesty", "She's always a woman", "Vienna" and many more.

You should absolutely check out his live performance of this song from the Old Grey Whistle Test. He plays it even faster than the studio recording and you get to watch his hands as he's just destroying it on the piano. It's brilliant.
Billy Joel is a phenomenal artist and one of my absolute favourites. Some other Billy Joel songs with great piano bits are Prelude/Angry Young Man, Scenes From An Italian Restaurant, Falling of the Rain is very underrated but I've always loved the piano in that one, I second the recommendation of Vienna. Honestly he has a huge catalogue of amazing songs, you can't go wrong with most of them.

Just stumbled across this reaction! If you love this...imagine it being performed live at an even faster tempo. Just look up Billy Joel on the Old Grey Whistle Test. You'll be blown away!

Billy has a few instrumentals, but most of his songs have lyrics. He stands out from other songwriters because of the technical aspects of his music. His chord choices are often very based in classical music which was his first love. A rarely heard classical instrumental by him is Nocturne. Also check out his other songs like New York State of Mind”, “And So It Goes” or “River of Dreams”

Just in case you thought the title “Piano Man” came from his best known song. He has chops. If he played against Keith Emerson & Chick Correa, I am not sure who would come out on top

Joel is a virtuoso, but compounding that, he wrote all his own music and lyrics for his songs. Wanna hear something else fast-paced from him? "Prelude / Angry Young Man" "Travelin' Prayer" "Ballad of Billy the Kid"
