Lars is a genius I don’t care what anyone says, he’s very creative and intelligent when it comes to song structure and form.
he's a great fuckin drummer too.......people who talk shit are fucking retarded.....dude's one of the most influential drummer's in the history of fucking music.....whether people wanna accept that or not.....its a fuckin fact
arranging riffs into songs is one of the absolute hardest parts in songwriting. no wonder he has credits on 98% of all tallica songs. when i make my little songs on cubase it takes fucking forever to sort all the riffs, ideas and chords and i never get satisfied. what lars does is incredibly impressive.
One of the great ‘feel’ drummers in my opinion, particularly what he plays on the albums. There is a good interview floating around of Mike Portnoy who describes Lars as one of his preferred drummers to listen to, not because of his technical skills but because of what he plays and how he feeds off the guitars. James plays quite percussive riffs so it’s a great partnership.
I totally agree but I think he knows it maybe a bit much
@@funghoul9124 Being influential doesn't inherently mean that you're great. Not saying Lars isn't, I know basically nothing about drumming so I can't even say exactly.
Also, don't call people retarded for saying that. If ever you shall think the opposite of what you said, your comment won't age well, and it wouldn't age well if someone factually proves your comment wrong.
And most importantly, it's just something that one shouldn't say I think.
You're killing me, James! Low Man's Lyric was a phenomenal song!
"You can't go wrong with a James Hetfield's riff" DAMN RIGHT, Rob!!! 🤘
Low Man’s Lyric is one of my favorite Metallica songs
Omega Son Hell Yes !!! Great song
Dear James: I really like "Low mans lyric" :)
Yeah, I was surprised to hear him say that he felt "Low Man's Lyric" didn't work. I think it's a great song, and I wish they'd play it more.
Michitarre i
I fucking loved Low Man's Lyric!
Me too. A lot.
It’s beautiful!
Damn straight!
yeah me too. too bad that low man's lyric and bleeding me are not played live now.
I'm also a huge Mama Said fan as well.
Rob is a really cool guy
I agree. Many say they hate him and prefer Cliff or Jason. First of all they don't know him so how hate him? Second preference is fine , musically I would say Cliff. But we're all entitled to our preferences. Robert seems super nice and humble and I think he does a great job. They all three were/are great musicians or they wouldn't have the job as Bassist in one of the most recognized and loves bands in metal, rock and music history in general.
Metallica rocks. I have been with them since 89 and I love everything they do
Congratulations
I love the way Lars speaks,he really holds my attention,I could listen to him for hours! !
I really like Kirk´s solo´s on this album, very good work ! ...
For some reason this is the first time I've seen this gem. Not often they go into so much detail
James, my main man Papa Het,
Low mans lyric is a brilliant song ! I love it and always listen to it
Thanks for all the effort and the awsome vids you putting out man.
Its a true pleasure following your channel.
Hell yeah! I'm just now getting around to watching these interviews because of this video!
A great video.Really awesome 🤘👏
James: i write the shit
Lars: i mix and edit the shit James write.
Kirk: i do the wah parts.
Robert: i imitate a frog on stage.
Pretty much how Metallica works.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
James:the Soul
Lars:the Brain
Kirk:the random but working ideas
Rob:the voice of reason
never seen this before...thanks very much for posting...
As a music fan I think people take for granted that Metallica is still here. So many shitty comments about Lars or this or that but at the end of the day imagine the world with no Metallica...
Lately I've been listening to this album in the car again. Great record! Some modern Metallica classics on there (Atlas, Rise!, Moth Into Flame, Spit Out The Bone etc.) and some others that are criminally overlooked. Man UnKind is one of my favorite Metallica tunes ever, such an incredibly cool ass song. I also love Dream No More and Here Comes Revenge - gnarly, mean and heavy, slowly growing on you. These are somewhat underrated because they don't sound like obvious hit songs to sing along to live. More a punch to the liver!
Best album since Justice and maybe even the best overall album they ever made. The aggression and riff changes and level changes to the lyrics to james' voice are all outstanding.
I'll put any of atlas, halo, spit, on any album.
Also Ronnie's medley is killet especially the kill the king section.
Am I Savage is heavy as shit aswell
@@Craig-gq4gb It has one of the meanest, most crushing Metallica riffs ever midway through the song!
I love these Guys !!!!
It's nice to see Rob having a proper moment talking about him being in the band !
For fucks sake these comments.... people over analyze these guys so much. Just be glad they put this kind of stuff out to begin with. I dont see any other huge bands of this magnitude doing intimate stuff like this. I guess everyone would prefer them to just be like "fuck you" and not post any videos ever again judging by these comments. Kirk has always been a little off, there's a reason they call him "Quirk Hammett" sometimes. He's a little weird, so fucking what.
i love that picture of cliff
Low Man´s Lyric is GREAT
My All Time Favourite Band 🤘🤘
Me too🤘
This is actually my all-time favorite Metallica album!
Rob I'm with you bro! Spit out the bone is the coolest tune on hardwired!
Spit is great but i prefer Am I Savage ? or ManUnkind
Metallica is Metallica...period
Period is Period....Metallica
Interview about an album.
Band: Talks about the album and a song that isn't even on it.
Producer: Tells life story.
Assistant: Brings pet into interview.
To be fair on the guys, we never hear what the question was that they're each answering.
Well Lords of Summer is on the Deluxe Edition... but I get what you're saying
Great having assist. Engineer talking.
amazing
Kirk "you know" Hammet 😄🤘
I love Low mans lyric James. Beautiful song.
I think James was shocked at how many people liked the new album.
Locoandchooch He was. He said that in a different interview.
26:19 Metalli cat
Awesome
Greg Fidelman looks like Doug DeMuro.
Bulgaria Loves You!
10:55
Hey man, Low Man's Lyric is fucking legit.
love the album fave is Halo on fire and spit out the bone
I love lars.
Bulgarian national flag.. HELL YEAH 🤘🤘
If this is Kill Em All 2, I can’t wait for Ride and Puppets 2
Jesus kirk you have scared me with that hat sitting there
Why exactly is that? lol
@@iRemainNameless no nation no god
What the fuck, James? Low Man's Lyric is freakin' great. Maybe he meant it wasn't as successful.
Haha this just another reminder that opinions are wonderful things, because Low Man's Lyric is the one Metallica song that I absolutely despise. I think you're right about what James was meaning though.
Appolo - I've heard him say it before. To me it's a beautiful song, but from his perspective he apparently doesn't feel it really works. - And to note, a lot of the stuff on the Load-albums was forced. In their own words they were "winging it" to fill a quota, apparently.
And another thing is that the creators of songs usually don't respect their work in the same way that fans would that get all obsessed over every move their idols make. It's the fans that make it bigger than it is, and the creators often think like "Well, that's just kinda meh...". At least when they don't have a big ego, which most genuine artists usually don't have. - Same with James in the old days, he would usually yell at the crowd which "shitty song" they were going to play next. They might enjoy playing it, or maybe not, but their opinion of their work isn't usually that high. It's just something they've formed.
Low Man's Lyric was an example of versatility from a heavy metal band. Metallica are influenced from many different styles.
The great thing about this song, and a few of the others similar to it, is that sometimes I feel like listening to something much less heavy but with just as must weight.
I can do that without having to change from listening to Metallica.
Thats not true mb b . Spend some time on the metallica discussion board. Fans generally really like Low Mans Lyric. They used to play it live with some regularity for a year or so.
Greg Fidelman is awesome
I always wondered who the girl was in the making of videos! You see who I assume is her in the DM and some in HWTSD. I even tried looking it up and never found anything. How cool..
Spit out the bone yeah
Kirk seems a bit off center.
He's never been an amazing interviewer. I think he gets super nervous and winds up falling over his words a bit and going off on tangents.
cause kirk didn't do shit on this album
I just realized he has a lisp. He does very well hiding it. But everyone has always commented that he appears he’s gonna start crying at any moment.
He’s a big stoner apparently lol 😂
He's become complacent as a musician. Not putting the work in, thinking you can just wing it, says a lot about where he's been at for years. The money has unfortunately gone too his head, and it's sad. I've never talked shit about him or anyone in Metallica, but Kirk has lost his drive I feel personally, and I find this too be sad for himself, because I became a Guitarist 20 year's ago because of James and Kirk. James and Rob are the two best musicians in the band now, age well catch up with drummers quicker unfortunately, but I hope Lars has been getting himself and keeping himself in better shape than before. James and Rob are both incredibly humble and down to earth. Take Care Man.🤘🏻🤘🏻. Metallica For Life!!
Hardwork to selfproduce
Σταυρος Ελλας good done. Hardwieners to Self Erect
hey, I was looking an interview with james. I watched but I couldn't find anymore. Host asking to James relationship with Kirk. He said we're not "hey dude, look what I learn lets play this" kind of dudes, "I COULD DİE FOR HİM but..." etc. It really impress me but I couldn't find. Have you ever see that interview? Thanks
Sara Killion's cat freaked me out. I had this playing while I was finishing up reassembling and restringing my new guitar. I heard a weird noise and was like 'Why the fuck is my guitar rattling??" and realized it was the bell around the cat's neck lol
Bulgarian Flag
I forgot how unrecognizable Kirk is without his hair
Did he cut his hair?? I had no idea?
@@iRemainNameless No no no, it's just that he had his hair in his hat and I didn't even recognize him until he started talking lol
Lars is in the control room, Kirk is comfortable on the couch, James is in a big room sitting in front of a Cliff banner, Rob is in a storage closet.
Low Man's Lyric is one of the best songs on the Load albums
*reload
Where's the other dude with the stach and muscles and tank top like shirt?
13:15 Hardwired is almost like the Old School on steroids.
Yeah that's totally how i feel about the album
There is a Bulgarian flag! Are you guys remember The big 4 show in Sofia 2010?! We are waiting Metallica for 4th show in our land!
Dat hat doe🤘
i just want one chance to watch greg doing the production thing
I love Kirk's cap One Nation No God🤘
Kirk Hammet is goofy af i love it. Also wish theyd return to Master Of Puppet ways, if all songs were like MOP, Battery and Damage Inc id be psyched
Wow Sara worked on 2 Metallica records and Stadium Arcadium... I'm very jealous
I think this is cut short,...where's the 25 min interview with the janitor?
I think Kirk had a party the day before... Saying things about recording the guitar 2 times... On the interviews during this tour in New York, he looked healthier and more awake..
BULGARIA !!!
Oh my god...for real, I didn't even recognize Kirk, at first. It's like he went from looking like a 12 year old to a 60 year old, with relatively little in-between.
It sucks, man. The best metal band ever is gettin' old (literally, not figuratively).
7:30 Kirk throwing out a lot of gibberish as justification for not putting a lot of effort into his job. lol
murilo ninj that's what I got from him
Shut up.
Kirks hat though
Kirk the man who lost his phone with his riffs and didn't have another backup 😂🤣 yeah he's prepared.
Nice comp, Shame to see how deaf Kirk is becoming. Wear ear protection musicians and gig goers!
James got a beer gut lol
10:57 What the fuck is he talking about? Low Man's Lyric is amazing.
What happened to kirk brain?
AlcoholicA.......
Last 3 albums are not really bad. But I expect more of greatest heavy metal band
Kirk seems a little emotional in a good way
Kirk seems a little gay
Low Man's Lyric > Nothing Else Matters
plz interview the cat🙂
Background Bulgarian flag behind Lars :P
The best angry player ever
I want Kirks hat. One Nation, No god...
what is Fidelman talking about? a band he joined? there seems to be another person there but this person cannot be heard...therefore what is being said is out of context...
My name is UM Lars Ulrich...
Is Kirk losing his memory? He literally approached Death Magnetic the exact same way. Improvisation.
No way you can improvise the solo on the day that never comes
Is that an Irish flag behind him?
Does Kirk have a stutter??
Baggy Unicorn no, it’s just the way he talks. You’ll know when someone has an actual stutter
@@MetalMayhem1978 he actually has disclosed that he sometimes has a stutter. I don't think it was an interview but a conversation with James and Lars. Wish I could remember where I saw it though.
What's wrong with Kirk Hammett speech?
I was th the same thing
In my opinion I think the name Kirk Hammet should be more recognizable and well known. I’m surprised it’s not, I couldn’t tell you who Metallica’s lead guitarist was until recently after I became a huge Metallica fan.
Kirk, we've all seen the "making of" videos...you played what Lars told you to play.
Kirk Trump lol
K. Hall build a wah
🇧🇬
Lars " wait should I have plugged that there?"
Never realized James basically has no eyebrows
And yet he moves them so much!! Lol
The Bulgarian flag behind him , with the skull ...😋😋😋
lars had only 1 leg?
kirk is all over the place
I've always been a huge Kirk fan, but damn! He needs to figure out who he is. I've read that he doesn't believe in God, which is completely his business. But in the recent Gibson Icons interview, he says "Thank God" several times! Maybe he believes sometimes!
@@bonniemeredith9942 No, i mean you don't have to believe in god to say "Thanks God" !
bob rock made kirk work really hard on his solo's that's why they were some of the best.
i get the idea of kirk just improvising, but if it don't sound good...then why use it.
Darin Steele Bob Rock isn't the reason his solo's were amazing though. ...And Justice for all proves that.
But the best solos by Kirk are on AJFA?
The best solos are on Ride The Lightning.
Kirk’s solos are the weakest point of the record. I’m not surprised to learn he didn’t prep. Interesting to learn about Bob Rock hold Kirk to a higher standard.
If you watch the making of TBA, you see Bob Rock and Lars cringing at Kirks solos. Then Bob puts pressure on him to do better. I think if Bob Rock was hard on Kirk on this album for this fake lose you phone story and just just noodling scales he probably would have had a stroke.
whats wrong with Kirk? he is like holding back himself... like Michael J Fox sort of thing
