U dont need to turn off contacts sync. Its enough to turn off call sharing do near devices and hand off. This settings helped by me.
This started happening to us after the recent updates. We've had the same Apple ID for over 10 years and never had a problem until now. I'm going to do this to all our phone and hopefully it will stop the syncing between phones (at least until the next update!)

When turn off contacts, it will not back up contacts on the cloud . What you said dis not solve the problem
Apple says the only fix is to get separate Apple IDs email addresses). Plus enough people are not calling Apple to complain so they do not plan on fixing it using the steps you mentioned in your video.

Does not work with IOS 17. Call history still syncing between 2 devices with same Apple ID. It used to work when iCloud Drive was turned off.

@@aditya29_4 The method in the video used to work but since upgrading to IOS 17, the merging of call histories reappears. I have everything connected to iCloud turned off except find my. No share photos, music etc. Everything seems separated except the call history. Never had a problem using same Apple ID for multiple devices until IOS 17.

Hello! I wonder how i can keep my call logs on Iphone only from calls that are coming in with regular calls? I dont want to see my Whatsapp, Viber, Skype etc, calls on my normal call log on the iphone! I just ordered the new iphone 15 after 20 years on android but find out that this is really ennoying. How do I stop contacts from being shared? I have contacts turned off on my phone but everything is still going to my sons Phone.

my husband and I did that to both of our phones and it started syncing again. This is the first time it has ever happened. I have iPhone 13ProMax and he has iPhone 15 Pro. We've had iPhones under the same Apple ID for 16 years since the very first iPhone came out and this is the first time we have ever encountered this. I don't don't know if it coincidentally happened when he updated his phone from the iPhone 11 Pro to 15 Pro but it is getting quite annoying.

I have three iphones on the same Apple ID. All three log the same call history. All three log the same voicemails??? Apple must be hurting for revenue. That is the only reason they would seek to force customers with more than one iphone to have separate Apple ID’s. This crap only started a few years ago. Apple claims to be such a sophisticated tech company, yet they supposedly can not figure out how to fix what they initiated. Remember it was fixed at first, then Apple decided to break it. When something is fixed and you break it, you break it for a reason.
