The force users of the SWTOR era are extremely underrated I wish we would get a clone wars style show set during that period there are so many awesome characters that deserve to be delved more into.
Yeah, I think everyone's minds go straight to Darth Malgus when they think of SWTOR Sith (or Revan and Bane if they think of the overall 4000 year period of the Old Republic period in its various forms) but Darth Marr is one of my favourite Sith Lords. And I'm surprised that Darth Jadus hasn't returned beyond a brief mention during War For Iokath.
Also it's interesting to see various Sith "falling" to the Light Side, including a Dark Counc member.
No let it stay untouched, I don't want Disney ruining the good section of star wars thats left.
The Galatic War 25 Years of Conflict between Sith and Republic like Storylines of Sith turning to The Jedi and forming not the jedi or Sith believes like the gray jedi pr another storyline of Sith Empire invasions of worlds Similtar to the Clone Wars Series
"I'm just here to check the plumbing"
Vader is still the strongest sith :)
Darth Marr: "If all else fails send any warning you can of the Dread Masters' strength. Perhaps then we can limit our losses to mere Sectors."
you know you've gone off the deep end when even the Sith consider your group as extreme
When the Sith are willing to team up with the Jedi to kill you, and the Jedi agreed
I like how because of their force bond instead of not caring about one of their brothers dying they straight up went ultimate suicide pack and planned to destroy the entire galaxy including themselves.
Man the dreadmasters were so cool when I first saw them, wish they got more screen time.
I wished they'd had their own Expansion.
@@aster4jaden i wish they update game more 😂
What game were they from?

The Dread Masters are like the Decepticon Justice Division of Star Wars.

Nice comparison and it's so nice seeing a fellow Transformers fan who's also a Star Wars fan.

@@neilhannan7525 They're a group of four Decepticon's whose singular purpose is to punish any traitor to the Decepticon cause.
I remember encountering the Dread Masters for the first time.
They balanced out the categories of 'terrifying', 'mysterious', and 'badass' so perfectly.
"Once, I thought myself a monster. I played in rivers of blood and laughed as innocents quaked. Yet when I touched the Dread Masters, I saw that my darkness was but a shadow of true depravity."
- Hargrev
hargev was a dark jedi at best a true sith fears nothing as they use fear as they strength along with other dark emotions fearing death made the sith weak thats why the select few sith that didn't fear death were so sucessful
The Dark Side is an unnatural and mysterious, and while many Dark Lords have a great understanding of the Dark Side, the Dread Masters were so steep into the Darkness that they may be confused for the Dark Side itself. The Sith Emperor wanted the Dread Masters to be close to him, but they are no doubt rivals for him, and this perhaps allowed the Emperor to realized that they could pose an actual threat to him. The Galaxy shudders when remembering the dark history, but the Dread Masters were creatures of pure nightmares and to horrifying to be told in story.
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some would consider... Unnatural.
@@bobbobberbobalina rip + tear + mald + seethe + cope
Can you imagine if the Dread Masters served Sidious?
Nah, the Emperor had them under his will. They followed him cause he was OP, and the only reason they didn't join the Sith Empire later on is because he left the known Galaxy.
He's the ONLY person these guys feared and respected.
@ryandunham1047
Nah, at that point, the Jedi Temple would've been SCREWED 😅 imagine Anakin leading them and the 501st Legion into the Temple during Operation Knightfall?
RIP to any Masters. Anakin wouldn't have lost on Mustafar if he had even one of them follow him to ensure the Seperatists and their droid armies were soundly defeated.
These guys represented a unique threat. Not for conquest, but just wanting to unleash every nightmare possible upon the Galaxy.
"You live. You know pain. You have learned fear. Now, only death remains."

Sith decided they needed a Ginyu Force, good job.
If they were more popular, they would outshine many Sith we do know better.
The really only existed in the old republic mmo, that's why they were never that popular
Honestly, I wish swtor, would relaunch with a more modern combat system?. Absolutely loved the class stories and world stories.
That voice is like an ice cold sprite my dude. Crisp as hell.
0:01 Vader: "Alas Poor Space Yorick, I knew thee!"
Dark Siders who actually have loved ones. I'll be damned...
EDIT: The Baanite Sith made a ritual out of severing emotional ties, Darth Malgus had a wife but chose to kill her as he felt their bond was a weakness. The Dread masters meanwhile were so close one of them dying drove the rest suicidal.
Lots of dark siders had loved ones. Remember, they could have attachments and emotions. Sure, it MIGHT make them weak.... but not necessarily.
Actual, Malgus's twillik lover was not a wife, but a slave.
Dread Masters. I like these SWTOR videos!
Glad you like them!

"We are prisoners no more, free of the Republic, Free of the Empire. Both will fall before the dread masters." -Dread Master Raptus
No one will ever cover star wars like Geetsly. we’ve come to a point where people are making the same information videos this channel made years ago
Tell that to Matt Wilkins or Christopher Nelson. Both are good and cover stuff no one else does.
see's like a common problem of the Sith Empire, that once the stabilising and unifying presence of the emperor vitiate disappeared . All manner of powerful sith rose up to challenge and overthrow the dark council to take its place; dread masters, Malgus and many others over the years and weakening the empire from within before war with the republic broke out again.
The emperor’s power stoked fear in the hearts of the rest of the Sith. Without Vitiate to deter any would be upstarts or keep the powerful in check, the empire stood no chance.
As Kreia once said: “To be united by hatred is a fragile alliance at best.”
@@emperorrevan6992 Indeed and well said and same can be said of the galactic empire under Sidious as once that fear and tyrant falls apart, the centre cannot hold or endure.
@@wedgeantillies66 Truly the fate that befalls those who happens to rule by fear alone.

I wish they would do a Star Wars movie involving some of these old Sith lords. Playing through SWTOR and defeating the Dread Masters was a blast... most of which you can do by yourself, but the big battles require a group (which is a ton of fun too).
One's more the sith will rule the galaxy and we shall bring peace.
But peace is a lie.

That’s a great name. Dreadmasters
How did the Dreadmasters live so long?
The Sith Emperor can make people immortal through the Force and cybernetics.
They're an interesting group.

A six way force bond sounds like something you can only get done in the darkest corners of nar shadaa
Bro, nar shadda is a smuggling moon, not a sith throneworld 💀
To the Emperor, he is playing the "keep your friends close, your enemies are closer" game with the Dread Masters. Heck, I am even surprised why the heck did they remain loyal to Darth Vitiate so much despite the obvious fact that they can easily defeat him and they don't have any sort of relationship with the Emperor, let alone having stockholm syndrome that kept them under slave mentalities like Ymir Fritz, like at all. Does it have something to do with something like seeing the Dark Council attempted to overthrow the Emperor three times and failed?
It is said that even with the combine power of the six dread masters, they are still no match againts the Emperor
"that they can easily defeat him"
HAHahah hahhahhahaha hohohohohahahahah
No.
The Emperor's power is beyond anything the Sith or the Jedi have seen.
They served the Emperor because he had power and a vision. They were his councilors, and after his disappearance to Zakuul, they saw no point in staying bound to his empire.
Crossing my fingers on the dread lords
super interesting, I didn’t know about these. love your content. to the editor: there’s a lot of white noise around the, “attention! sergeant on deck!” sound, don’t you want to clean that up? no disrespect, just an observation 🙃
You know your a extreme threat when the Republic and Empire set aside their differences and join forces
LOVE THIS SUBJECT, thanks for the great vid!!!!
Sith never imposed their rule on the galaxy , the galaxy was theirs to rule by the divine right bestowed on them by the force .
It would be cool if there was a movie or tv show about them
Hey @Geetsly's is this reward message from you just making sure first
13:15 Belos?!?
What's he doing here?
Seriously I was super confused seeing this the first time, someone explain please_
Likely just some fan-art imagining a merge crossover between SW & TOH, with Belos looking like one of the Dread Masters [which makes some sense, given the similar look of his robes & mask with theirs, along with their natural ability to instill fear into their subjects (Dread Masters through their raw power, Belos with his prophet-like charisma.])
This is Canon for me!
They were a pain to beat
seems like bad plan to keep them alive...

I knew who you were talking about just from the title. Oricon was a fun planet in SWTOR.
Great that this video gave background on the Phobius devices. This codex entry is STILL missing from the codex in-game after 10 years! 😞
8:08 How did you get this photo? That's my character from SWTOR, Katualagka. My friend made that especially for me. I don't remember posting it online. I only know of one place my friend posted it, but you left out their signature. If you could let me know where you saw it, that'd be great. I'm just curious.
I love the Dread Masters! They're my fave group of Sith. So much so, I have a SWTOR guild focused on a new group of Dread Masters.
Are you going to do a video about Darth Morbius?
Cool lore
The dark side was so strong with them that just mentioning them in the script changed the narrator's voice.
Sweet 👍
I never played the games, but I am actually curious about those strike teams. in the Darth Bane books, the most elite non-Jedi forces the Republic had were cannon fodder to Kopecz, I would have assumed that 6 Sith with the hype I always hear for this group would have torn pretty much any 'strike team' a new one, Kopecz was a funny child playing with party tricks next to any of them.
Thats weird, how did dark sider practitioners became force ghosts?
The Dreadmasters as a whole are standing representatives of the culmination of trauma bonding
It's always the bookish Sith, isn't it?
Getting some 40K vibes from this
The only problem was how much was locked behind a paywall
Yeah it seems to be thing among the sith that most of them including palpatine are weary of fringe darksiders who care more about chaos and destruction for it's own sake rather than trying to actually rule the galaxy.
At the end of the day if you're somebody who wants to establish and sustain his own sith empire and maybe acheive immortality down the line you still need some degree of order and administrative government with a chain of command and darkside death cults that just want to bring about the apocalypse could interfere with that. If your a typical sith, the darkside is meant to be your slave. You aren't supposed to actually worship and rever aspects of it.
These six very powerful Sith inspired me to remake their main character. This is even indicated by pixel art Avatar, which was made by my friend.
did your voice change, geetsly?
13:19 is it just me, or does that picture look a lot like Emperor Belos from the Owl House?
Right! Since there are so many questions about this, i figure i would just post a comment instead of replying to each and every question.
Narrator today is Pat!
Pat joined the Geetsly family during the Spider Droid monks video. You know, the Brain jar monks who used spider droids to move about in Jabba's palace?
Pat usually comes in while Geetsly is otherwise indisposed. So say if geetsly is sick, Pat steps up and helps out. To what extent, i cannot say. All I can glean is that Pat is the narrator for the day.
That said, pat does a wonderful job and I have noticed his audio is crisper than previous videos~ Great Job, Pat~ Thanks again for your help and an exellent coverage of the topic. ^~^
I do hope this helps you folks understand what goes on when the narrator changes~

Not bad. BUT everything usually has its equal and opposite counter balances. Ought to do their Lightside counterparts that would or did beat them if they ever fought next

When u were summarizing each one, it seemed like u only did five. An someone help me with this?

I keep hearing and seeing the title "Emperor" are we talking Palpatine or...??
There was one particularly powerful Sith Emperor before Palpatine who, for a long time, went by no other name. You can search him up by the names Vitiate, Valkorion or Tenebrae (I think; it might be Tenebrous). Basically, he was really powerful, immortal, lived for a very long time, and barely failed to accomplish his goals, then he abandoned the Sith for some reason and that's where my understanding of him ends.
@@samueldimmock694 THANKS BRO, I have heard of Lord Vitiate if I'm correct Valkorian was a force reincarnated Vitiate...but I think both of us could use a refresher course on the events of his life, apparently he was far removed from the events surrounding the Galactic Empire in a sort of self exile in the outer rim regions but again...a refresher is needed.
Are you using a voice changer? Why is your voice so different?🤔🤔
