I stir my studio gel with thin cuticle pusher before use and that helps with the application and lines .

on smaller nails the studio gel is definitely better, but for me since it’s so thick I draw the smile line with a liner brush and paint the French with a normal round gel brush and it goes in very smooth and it’s also perfect for intricate designs because it doesn’t run!
