War of the Worlds Alien Tripod Model Kit (Pegasus Hobbies)

I was commissioned to build, light, and paint this model kit so I created this video to show the owner what's going on under the hood. It was easier to show and explain through video. I'm no expert when it comes to lighting kits and a separate lighting kit wasn't in the budget, so I came up with a simple and cheap solution.
It also seems like a good excuse to start a channel and to start sharing some videos, so awaaay we go! I know my first few videos will be terrible, so we'll get that out of the way. So sorry about the poor quality, I will learn and try to do better with every upload.

That looks great. I think you did a fine job with the lights and since it's all hidden, it doesn't really matter - the effects are great!

Which led lighting strip from Amazon did you use? What did you use for a connector, and how did you do the on off switch? I am old and new to using lighting strips. Thank you
I posted links below for the strips and some of the bulbs I used, the bulbs are no longer available but you can get the idea.
I'm a rookie when it comes to this stuff, I just ran all the wires in parallel to the battery and switch, but I'm doing another one right now and doing it a little different and better (wiring them in a series this time).
I will try to get some of that in a video soon, I just got the lights working last night!

Joke: maybe that's what's on the tripods. The dude got a tripod, and killed the aliens, cleaned the blood tanks, miniatureisd it and did stuff.
Hi, does this come pre painted and which lights did you use please?
I'm sorry I did not see your message until today, I'm still very new to this and I wasn't getting notifications. I'm working on another one of these kits now and will go into detail on what I used. The kit comes unpainted in a gray color. The dome is semi-clear, kind of "smokey".

It does, it's a bit wobbly but it stands ok.

What’s tripod
They call the Martian War Machines "tripods" since they walk on three legs, like a camera tripod. They were described that way in the original novel "War of the Worlds" by HG Wells.

Yes, I could, and with some improvements. I upgraded this one with a remote control switch with dimming/flashing options. (I'll show that soon, it works pretty great.)
