  • There is a secret to make hobbles unescapable, I reveal this simple secret to stop hobble escape. Hobbles, what do you use? Chain hobbles, ice hobbles, nylon hobbles, grazing hobbles, are just some to mention. I hobble my mules and horses when I graze them in the mountains I'll hobble them up. When I tie them up short over night I hobble them. When I tie them up for the day while off hunting or hiking I hobble them up.

That was awesome info! We use hobbles when we're elk hunting and I've seen the string trick that is genious!! Thank you for sharing my friend!

Where can a person buy the ice hobble(chain hobble)?

Had a horse learn quickly it could run in them. Didn't stop well, but could run, and jump off a 4' embankment. Haven't been brave enough to try it since.

Yes they usually figure them out and can easily outrun you. I would suggest a three-way hobble, or a single leg picket. I’ll have a video on these soon.

Is it best to hobble at the cannon or at the pastern in your experience?

I usually put them around the pastern, that where they tend to end up anyways
