Song is from the 2012 5th album ,Requiem For the Indifferent. Lyrics by Simone, music by Simone and Coen. When you asked , what was that sound, I was hearing Coen on piano or keyboards. Here is what Simone had to say about the lyrics. "Storm the sorrow deals about all the negative criticism which everyone has to deal with in their life. Everybody has something to say about everyone and a lot of criticism comes from jealousy and envy. Besides being criticized by the public, you're also criticizing yourself. It is a struggle within and you alone can fight it."
Hi Nick, here is a song from an incredible show last year in Amsterdam, this song is very catchy, it's the song that gets the audience jumping around, a lot of fun 🙃 EPICA - Beyond The Matrix (Live At The AFAS Live) - Official Live Video
Enjoyed your reaction. One of Epica's more radio friendly songs. Not throwing shade because I like the song a lot. I believe it's about our inner struggle against self criticism.
I originally didn't care too much about this song maybe for being too "radio friendly" (always liked the video though, so well made) but recently it's been growing on me (also learned it on piano lol) It's really well composed and I love the bridge with Mark growling and Simone singing with a low voice Keep digging with this band, finding a bad song is a challenge
