- I am using egg candling on my Budgie eggs to see their growth and development.
Candling is a method used in embryology to study the growth and development of an embryo inside an egg. The method uses a bright light source behind the egg to show details through the shell and is so-called because the original sources of light used were candles.

i also have 2 budgies and they recently had 5 eggs yet only 2 hatched, after 1 month i checked to see if the eggs where infertile and to my surprise they where infertile. so i had to separate them from the ones that hatched, and the momma bird was so sad But thankfully the 2 baby birds that hatched are doing well and your videos are what i watch to help them through this experience and they are what motivate me to keep on helping and taking care of them❤️

I know in the last video I commented that four of my budgie eggs hatched well sadly its down to three i dont know how but i found the youngest one dead and black at the bottom
And now its miraculously alive and I have 5 now yay

Yes, I'm curious also, because my budgie laid and egg yesterday also :))! This is the second time this year, at first none of them were fertile, but I did not checked any of them. Now I'm so curious :)! Good luck Fridos on growing your family :)
I would wait a week or so give them time to mature enough so you can get a good image also give the mother time to warm it up
No, you have to wait around 7-10 days before candling, the egg will be clear if she just layed it.

The first 2 eggs my budgie laid were infertile. One in fact had no yolk. The next two she had, laid just a few days ago, have nice and healthy blood vessels. 😁 super excited!

one of my pairs had 6 ggs, 3 of which are fertile. My lutino, I was given because she would make only unfertile eggs. But I think out of 5 she has at least 1, she won't let me get near to the nesting box.
