    The urge to explain the sk jun jacket properly cause no one explained it wwell
    They were given padded jacket and one day shua spilled something on jun's pocket on the padded jacket thats why shua got nagged by jun. The next day seungkwan felt that the jacket he had has a wet pocket so he realized it was jun's(due to shua spilling accident) he told him that they accidently switched jacket and jun didnt want to agree then they kept fighting until sk told him ani hyung if you look at the back of your jacket it would have my name and jun just dismisses him and tells him why is he like that to him. 🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣

    I don’t know if you guys will see this comment but recently I’ve been wanting to take my Korean learning more serious and even bought some books on grammar etc. But I’ve also been hearing a lot of “horror stories” from foreigners in Korea who get treated badly so now I’m scared to go there unless my Korean is like .. perfect which it probably never will be. I’m a really anxious person so I don’t want people to get angry at me for not knowing certain words or customs. Is this just an over-exaggerated stereotype or something that actually happens a lot?

      tldr: it's good to be aware of the bias/bad stories because at the end of the day it is a possibility but dont be afraid because of it!! go for it!!
      from my personal experience visiting korea like 5 years ago, it's not too bad. i managed to get around seoul at least only speaking english and chinese and i feel like if you go to the touristy spots it isnt as bad, although i am very confident that there is a bias against foreigners especially in korean restaurants because ive seen videos about it (cant say for sure because i was eating like. convenience store food through my visit lol 😭😭 finding halal food is so difficult) and my friends have commented on korean people (mainly older generation) being rude to them and stuff (even though their korean is trained to a degree of fluency) like when asking for directions or boarding the subway and things like that so i suppose it isnt maybe like "very badly"
      i think though it is good to just read up about common korean customs e.g: bowing, using two hands to give and take things, honorifics and maybe try to speak to a korean person/tutor verbally rather than on text as practice bc its one thing to be able to type and write a language but to speak it on the spot is an entirely different ball game imho (also korean pronunciation scary aaaa)

      We see all comments, and thank you for your question! I’ll say it this way… Think about where you are from. Is everyone 100% kind and welcoming and perfect all the time, even though you are from there? Of course not! Some people might be very kind. And some people are just unhappy, or don’t have enough money to get by, or are tired and they take it out on other people. It’s the same in Korea and anywhere else in the world. There will always be kind people and rude people everywhere, so I think if you have the opportunity, you should explore the world and find those kind people as much as you can. I think what’s happening in S.Korea is that the country modernized fairly recently, and older people aren’t used to seeing so many tourists… So they sometimes get frustrated. My time in Korea wasn’t perfect because no time in my life is, but I LOVED living there. As long as you show you are trying to learn, kind people will appreciate it. I am also hoping to make a video related to this in the future :) I hope this helps! -Anna

      Hi I'd like to applaud you for taking the leap to learn Korean! I recently just came back from a 3 week trip to Korea and I only bought my tickets one week in advance so I didn't get a chance to refresh my hangul reading skills. I went there with primarily very (very) basic comprehension skills. I would say the horror stories are only the most extreme and that's why those stories stick to your memory. I am also a very anxious person but I had a great time with very little bad experiences! I even felt people in Busan and Jeju were even more nice to us in Seoul because they are popular travel destinations. Everyone was very accommodating to us and our translation app (Papago). I think it helped that we were Asian and if we looked confused, they would speak in Japanese or Chinese instead (which I knew both).

      @@seannatv Thank you so much for the reply ! You’re absolutely right that it definitely isn’t exclusive to Korea and I’ll keep in mind to see people as individuals and not as one (and treating people nicely usually goes a long way to get that same treatment) but I’ll look out for that video in the future 😊

    56:57 on my place, at least because we're a bit on rural area, donating clothes actually helps those who can't afford new clothes... (cause their clothing really is very run down(?)/ mostly not in a good condition..) so really, make sure your donated goods/clothes is given to those who really needs them (cause they'll appreciate them a lot)... your "trash" might be someone's "treasure", some of them just need a decent clothing (without holes/tears) to wear
    sorry my comment is a bit too serious :")

    • @seannatv
      @seannatv  Před 2 lety +1

      Aw thank you for sharing your perspective! I wish there were better methods of getting clothes and other things to people who need them. I think the issue is probably that sometimes if costs more to get them to those people than to just throw them away. :/

    31:23 on the screenshot from the boss to seungkwan, is it accurate to translate “너의센스는 아시아 최고다” as “You’re the best in Asia”? They left the word sense, no?
    I have same idea with Anna about the boss, just saying~

    • @seannatv
      @seannatv  Před 2 lety

      You're correct, the literal translation would be "Your sense is the best in Asia!" But English "sense" and Korean "센스" are a bit different. Eng: "a feeling that something is the case" or "a faculty by which the body perceives an external stimulus." In Korean it's used more often to mean "wit" or "humor"! So in this case, I think it's okay that they left it out!

    56:52 that sounds horrible, what's the point in donating if it's all going to a landfill. i know that for the charity shops in England, or at least the ones around me since i volunteer at one, we have to throw a lot of clothes away because people tend to think they can just donate any old clothes to us and we sell them for cheap, but the clothes have to decent-good quality so we the people buying the clothes aren't just wearing someone's rubbish. All the clothes we throw away are sold to the mysterious rag people, i have no clue what they do with it, hopefully to be recycled but now i kinda doubt it 😭
