  • Mazda is GOING BOLD - releasing their MOST LUXURIOUS, MOST EXPENSIVE and MOST POWERFUL car ever...
    Does that mean it will be an instant success? Well, maybe or maybe not. This HUGE, 7-seat SUV is designed to bring Mazda into a new era. A boujie, upper-premium era. We attended the launch of the new Mazda CX-90 SUV to bring you THE MOST IN-DEPTH review on it. We are going to check out the whole range, talk about what we love, and what we don't. We're going to look at all its cool features, some of its drawbacks, and we're going to test both powertrains - the 3.3L Inline 6 Turbo Petrol AND Diesel. So, let's get into this review!

    The dial infotainment system is so easy use as I’ve had the current 3 Astina for 4yrs. I’m glad it’s not touchscreen.

    Funny enough, in my opinion the lack of ventilated/cooled 2nd row seats in the CX-60 would be a deal breaker for me.

    Great review, y’all are hilarious. Surprised about the body roll though, my US spec Azami Takumi has very little body roll and handles very well. As for the transmission it does smooth out a lot once you own the car and it adapts to your driving style.

    Looks great. Don’t mind at all that it looks like an inflated CX-60 as they got the looks of that one spot on too. I Hope this comes to the UK. I’m sure there was talk that it might not. Mazda are really in the game with this model and whilst everyone else is going electric, it takes some balls to be launching a big diesel but that’s what so many of us still need and want.

    They should put that inline 6 diesel in their bt50s or should call it bt60 😏. Mazda one of the only companies offering this good varitey of engines across the suv range . Comparing it to the competitors they are very underrated .

    It’s a nice vehicle, but in the price range I would be cross shopping a Defender or Land Cruiser 300. If I made it this far, I would go further.

    Have to admit…I’m hesitant to buy a CX-60/90 as my next vehicle. As a diehard Mazda fan it pains me to admit it, however the gearbox is strange. Like you said, 98% of the time it’s seamless, but every now and again it slams a shift or lets out an almighty ‘bang’ which is extremely disconcerting. Hard to decide between a Audi Q5, Lexus NX, Mazda CX-60, or a Genesis GV70 - a difficult one for sure. As always though, great review.

      Japanese manufacturers undertune their motors for reliability. Germans sell their motors at peak performance at the expense of reliability. Koreans are middle ground.

    I have noted one MASSIVE disadvantage is the price - In Australia Mazda CX9 begins $47,600 while the CX90 will begin at $74,385 - this is an increase of a whopping 56% - this is ridiculous considering Mazda's CX90 is advertised as CX9s replacement which it obviously is not - it is also obvious Mazda corp is trying to outdo the German brands like BMW well good luck not with my money

    • @illcritikz
      @illcritikz Před 10 měsíci +1

      You're not comparing apples with apples, there's really nothing the cx-9 shares with the cx-90 apart from 3/4 of the name. They probably should've named it differently as it isn't the first time I've seen your type of comment. This isn't an evolution of the cx-9, it's a completely new car.

    • @majorrgeek
      @majorrgeek Před 10 měsíci

      @@illcritikz - wrong, I am comparing apples with apples and CX90 is a whopping 56% increase over the outgoing CX9 which is ridiculous as there is not a 56% increase in improvements with this new car - fact also the inline 6engine looks like a nightmare as it combines some of the worse elements that contribute to higher repair costs

      @@David_Journey - who you trying t kid? Mazda has even admitted CX90 is not selling as well as CX9 in US and is a world wide trend - personally I think the CX90 and CX60 are ridiculously over priced and for that matter they don't even drive as well as their monetary value counterparts

    Look buddy. They all look the same because the money was spent on the development of the engine and transmission.
    Even the button press aircon is an indication that they didn't have time to do round dials.
    Everything interior of these large CXes shows lack of capacity.
    The front seats are smaller than the second row. The Mazda 3 door panels look more premium. Especially the inside door handle look like it's from the 90's.

    TBH, the exterior looks already outdated. The interior is better. Does not look any better than the precedent CX-9, I personally like the exterior of CX-9 more than CX-90. Don't quite understand why do I need to pay much more for almost the same car which looks worse. Looks like Mazda invested a lot into hybrid system and tries to get investment back asap.

    the inline 6 looks good on the surface, until you realized the engine is installed backwards. Meaning, the timing belts, tensioners, water pump, etc are at the rear of the engine. if you want to replace any of those items, you need to bring the whole engine down (of course removing exhaust that would be in the way too). It's idiotic why Mazda would choose this path..

      Let’s try to count how many three row *rear wheel drive*-biased SUVs are out there. If you can’t discern the difference, a cheaper FWD biased platform will serve you better. There is more than meets the eye… take a test drive and judge then.
