      Tobias Knostmann what’s your favourite tank so far and why?

    • @tobiasknostmann
      @tobiasknostmann Před 4 lety +4

      @@kernowcalli3312 Good question! First off I like two of them so much that I did not try the middle yet, I started my honeymoon phase on the smallest one (Le Bon). I was immediately pleasantly surprised by the depth and the way it blended in with my clean signal, very natural. I was so happy that it took me 2 weeks to get to unbox the biggest one just out of curiosity. I cut back a bit on the mix control, and man that thing delivers in spades. Larger room as expected. It's difficult to qualify, not better, not worse than Le Bon, just as good but different. I have not even unboxed the medium one, but based on my experience (honeymoon phase is over) I think I can unreservedly warrant a recommendation for this amazing device and all of its spring sizes, as I am expecting the middle one just like a blend of Le Bon and the large. So, my recommendation would be two-fold: 1) if you want an awesome spring reverb, get the small one, you will not be disappointed. 2) If you want some more flexibility and maybe go a bit more cavernous, get all three in the bundle. They are worth it 100%

    I'm partial to spring-verb myself. I love that subtle "warble" effect on the tails. A good spring-reverb tank can add loads of personality to pretty much any kind of tone, if done judiciously of course.

  • @JohnKelly2

    I seriously love these. Outside of the Danelectro Spring King, there's no other real spring pedals at a reasonable price. And the quality here is amazing!
    Also, thanks to Andersons for putting out such quality videos. Professional musicians who actually put the gear through its paces is the only way to demo.

  • @aussie_philosopher8079

    Great to hear a guitar that really has great sense of melody in soloing, it's beautiful. High gain works extraordinaryily well creating reverb feedback loops. If you crank the reverb get it just right you can make abstract atmospheric sounds using the different feedback harmonics and textures which is really fun

    Analogue spring reverb is better than digital reverb, except when gigging on an outdoor stage on a very windy day, when the wind makes the reverb springs vibrate. Even then, analogue spring reverb is still better than digital reverb!

    First off, Sometimes i'm watching Tone Tasting and listening to Pete play and then halfway through I have to slap myself and say. "Oh yeah. This is a pedal demo!"
    Second. @ 4:14, he says you can mount it under your pedal board and then shakes it to prove that it is a true spring reverb. That's cool
    What if you're on some flimsy stage and the Bass player is next to you decides he wants to jump up and down?

  • @lance134679
    @lance134679 Před 4 lety

    Real springs! I really like that sound. It works so well for cleaner sounds, and the Anasounds Element series seems perfect for adding it to a reverb-less amp, or one that has a less-than-stellar digital reverb. Just got the Tone Master Twin, and to me it sounds as good as the Accutronics in one of my other amps.

  • @guitarnerd_luke
    @guitarnerd_luke Před 4 lety +1

    I like the Spring Revern in my Boogie Mark V25 and Deluxe Reverb. And I probably will never buy an amp without or with a chip again. Sure today it is easy to put a pedal in the loop, but straight in the amp and off we go, is still cooler.

  • @utai4571

  • @johnhowardnardine6815
    @johnhowardnardine6815 Před 7 měsíci

    Gawd. This guy. Danish Pete could make a sack of wet oatmeal sound musical. This is a great idea, but basically just what has been in your reverb amp all along: a preamp driving a spring tank. Not to detract at all from what the good folks at Anasounds have done here, but it makes me wonder why such an obvious idea has not been exploited before now. Also, the lovely wooden-covered spring tanks look lovely, but they are like 4 times the price of the Accutronics reverb tanks they are made of. And then, just like going crazy down the rabbit hole of tube swapping, you can start swapping out the spring tanks made by MOD, Mojotone, TAD, Accutronics, etc. The Element will, I'm assuming, drive all of them. They cost like $25-$35 each, and each has a different tone quality: long, short, 3 spring, 2 spring, long delay, short delay, etc. So, I'm thinking of the Element as the gateway drug to spring tank nerding out. Best of all, the small and micro size tanks will fit under your pedal board, so you can fit the Element pedal where your digital reverb pedal sits now. Brilliant.
