I never recognized the parallel of Dracula’s eyes turning red while he defends his castle, and Carmilla eyes turning red when she defends hers in Season 4. A really nice touch
Isaac’s relationship with Dracula reminds me of my friendship with my MMA/Boxing coach. I’ve known him for more then 10 years and He doesn’t teach me personally anymore, but he still talks to and guides me and is still my friend. I can’t imagine how distraught I’d feel if I lost him like Isaac lost Dracula. It really hits home.

Just remember, the fragments of dracula's humanity is why anyone survived that day. If he had no humanity left Alucard, Cypha, and Trevor would've died. Most likely Isaac if he tried protecting Dracula. Once that would be finished he'd probably hunt down Camilla and butcher them.
In the games Alucard and Trevor have both beaten Dracula 1v1 just that they decided to overbuff him for no reason man's was starving and could've slaughtered everyone in that castle in he wanted to
@@venm766 Nah, Trevor never did it 1v1. In the games it is clearly implied he canonically had the help of Sypha, Alucard and Grant Danasty (I don't get why he was excluded from the show). They're always referenced as a group in later titles. Trevor's descendants could do it though, due to the magic of Sypha's bloodline and the Belmont's skill. Also, Alucard was older and more skilled when he beat Dracula, so it's less Dracula was empowered for the show and more his opposition got stronger across the timeline.
Okay so am I the only one who’s just now, after re-watching this series for the umpteenth time, noticing that at 2:10 Lisa’s portrait is exactly where the sun is in Dracula’s mirror a moment later? Yeah, what we see in the show isn't even the tip of the iceberg for how powerfull Dracula really is. He's straight up an eldritch horror in human form...
@@lcsswcks But Julius Belmont didn't take down Dracula alone. He delivered the final blow but he got aided by Alucard, and a Belnades member, with Hakuba clans completed their ritual to seal away Castlevania behind the eclipse for eternity and prevented Dracula from returning to life again.
This was probably the first act of kindness Isaac had ever known. Dracula saved him because he saw him as a person, rather than a tool. So it's fitting that this event marks the beginning of Isaac's redemption arc.
Y’know what’s interesting? For all of Dracula’s talk of wanting to end humanity, his last act before meeting his death was saving a human life. They made Dracula so human in this series and it really makes me happy.
Isaac is far more compelling of a character than his game counter part, an actual personality that similar to his (hate all humanity) one in curse of darkness was far more thought out. Ive heard some complaints about blackwashing and while I think changing anyone's race of a WELL established character can be jarring what they did with isaac is a perfect example of a bad character made good and compelling
The funny thing too if I recall correctly, In CoD It's insinuated Isaac learned a form of forgemastery that instead of turning bodies into monsters/demons, He could use it to change his form and be technically immortal by swapping bodies, but it would take a toll mentally was the only downside, so who's to say that perhaps that white character in CoD is him years later just now lost in his own madness
The race fits him well considering his past story and all. Make his character have more depth, reasons and motivations. One of the well written character in this series. And easily becomes my favourite character.
In a way, this choice might have been for the greater good of all. Isaac by the end of the series seems intent on saving the world from evils that could destroy it, it being his choice to do so. In saving Isaac here, dracula made this possible
I believe Dracula's words, right here, is the beginning of Isaac's arc to change. By the very end of the series, he is a man ready and willing to start living.
One thing everyone is missing with this scene is that Dracula acknowledges Isaac as a pure soul and before sending him off, he essentially said the world needs him. Which comes full circle in season 4 against Carmilla. He saved everyone from her madness.
@@MeaningYT Hes still a victim, just one with more things to atone for. He himself likely accepts he will have to pay for that at some point, and whoever unseats or succeceds him will be a better man than he was.
Most definitely. Carmilla HAD to go and Sypha, Alucard and Belmont were busy stopping Death. Isaac ended up making the world a better place as Dracula predicted.
"you are the greatest of your people" honestly the change he underwent really highlights what dracula saw in him and by not involving him in that fight he left someone who could make the world a better place once issac found his purpose
It's nice to see that despite all that shit with his wife Dracula can still see good in humans and saved Isaac because only his wife and him were the only two humans to ever really care about him and he doesn't want history to repeat itself.
"Perhaps that is more valuable to the world to come than a dusty collection of books an apparatus." I don't think Dracula ever intended to wipe out humanity, that's what he wanted but he probably knew the costs for doing it well before anyone else did. I think Alucard was right in calling it a suicide note, but in that moment where Isaac is willing to protect Dracula for no reason other than the very things humanity killed his wife and condemned him for I think he saw what Isaac saw in himself in S3, that he would be the most capable of redeeming the world.
This Dracula is one of the best characters ever developed. This 'daemon' deserves a comeback. I'm glad that a series gave depth to Dracula. He's such a complex character that lived throughout the ages.
1:23 That Moment right here he was aware of the prophecy and decided in this moment that he can't prevent what will happen next so he decides to save Isaac.
@@claudius_drusus_ the Prophecy about the "sleeping Soldier" back in season 1. The Speaker's believed this Prophecy to be information from the future. When the Soldier awakes he will be aided by a "Scholar" and a "Hunter". By the small reaction from Dracula I think he was aware about this Prophecy.
To think, Carmilla actually thought she was more powerful than Dracula. This man causes a blood moon without even so much as lifting a finger, and Carmilla thought she had a chance. Rofl.
The best part is they can still otherwise be evil, cold, or sadistic bastards, it’s just that little extra nuance that makes a villain great. I’m currently thinking of Red Death from Venture Bros. And his family.
Issac needs his own series. There was so much growth from him from follower to deciding his own path. No way could you honestly root against him eventhough he wanted to destroy mankind
I like thinking of each season in terms of my favorite quotes from them, 1 through 4. My pick for season 2 is everything Dracula says from "You are the greatest of your people, Issac" to the end of this scene. I feel like it's the last little bit of Lisa in him that decides "No, not you Issac. You're not dying today, not for me" Such a great character. Such a great series
You gotta love how for most of the show, Isaac doesn't show a lot of emotion in his voice. He keeps a very control and calm demeanor. But this is the time and one of the few moments, where he can't control his composure.
@@aickavon He suffered more than dracula ... perhaps he started not to trust humans too when he put those Japanese siblings on stakes when they betrayed him(At this point he thought that his father was right)

I just want to point out how beautiful the music is as Dracula saves Isaac’s life. It feel’s sorrowful, regretful even. That the time has come that Dracula would have to let his most loyal follower and friend go
This is so sweet and heartbreaking 🤗🥺😭Part of me loves that this scene cements their friendship. Isaac didn't care what was going to happen to him as long as he protected the only... individual in his life who ever seemed to value him. Dracula probably underestimated that until now. He really seemed shocked. That's so adorable to me, but it's also so sad that they both had to lose their only friend. Their faces at the end too-both heartbroken at what this means. A true selfless moment from them both. This is real friendship. We should all hope to find someone whose happiness we would put above our own and who would do the same for us
And this dracula is one who is weakened, never feed for a long long time, and is not at his full power. I would like to see Carmilla fight Dracula and the expression on her face when she see how outmatch she is.

he found wisdom on his path to know what's right
"i think Drácula has earned his rest..."
He says that he earned because he did both good and bad to humanity.
He was hopeless so he just wished to die... And he earned it
I never recognized the parallel of Dracula’s eyes turning red while he defends his castle, and Carmilla eyes turning red when she defends hers in Season 4. A really nice touch
i think its rage mode ON
To be fair, I don't think you'd be too happy either if a group of mountain vampires decided to start squaring off in your house
Another thing I noticed is the war cry screaming that Dracula and Carmella share. Dracula when fighting Alucard, and Carmella vs isaac
Bonds are to be treasure, and you get a like from me due to knowing and being taught in the ways of fighting

When you say that while having Ippo as your profile picture, it makes me imagine that your coach is probably as badass and fatherly as Coach Kamogawa. Bless that man for as long as he lives.
Dracula was the only creature who ever cared about Isaac, right up until the end.
Correct. Dracula's mercy is the thing that enabled victory, nothing else.
@@venm766 Incorrect. Dracula in the games is vastly more powerful than in the show and the same goes for the other characters.
Uhh just to be on the same page… Alucard or reversed draculA is Dracula’s alter ego, right?
“Then i regret only that i have taken a choice for you” even in his last moments he maintained his respect with isaac. He even apologized… to a human
Dracula is the type of friend to give you a blanket when your sleeping over
And a glass of water if you're thirsty but too tired to go downstairs
@@eren34558 you gotta make sure the homies are comfy, otherwise how will they have nice dreams?
Okay so am I the only one who’s just now, after re-watching this series for the umpteenth time, noticing that at 2:10 Lisa’s portrait is exactly where the sun is in Dracula’s mirror a moment later? It’s Lisa’s influence on Dracula allowing him to choose mercy and a better future for Issac. It’s literally the light of Lisa’s Humanity shining through for Dracula one more time.
This show, I swear.
Dude, that's a really good detail!
Lisa being likened to the sun is also ironic. She was a light in his life, but since he's a vampire, the sun is his downfall. Goddamn
Astute observation
Nice attention to detail, you made this scene 20% better, thank you
A weakened Dracula is so powerful he can turn the moon blood red...
Yeah, what we see in the show isn't even the tip of the iceberg for how powerfull Dracula really is.
He's straight up an eldritch horror in human form...
Vlad Bloody Tepes, everyone
I am convinced that peak Dracula would be stronger than Death and maybe even God himself
@@filipvadas7602 makes you wonder how fucking powerful Julius Belmont is
@@lcsswcks But Julius Belmont didn't take down Dracula alone. He delivered the final blow but he got aided by Alucard, and a Belnades member, with Hakuba clans completed their ritual to seal away Castlevania behind the eclipse for eternity and prevented Dracula from returning to life again.
Dracula: Im going to save your life
By throwing you into the middle of the Sahara dessert with no water for miles
This is Issac the man that lives and trained with demonic forces of nights if he can survive living with that I’m sure the dessert mean nothing to him
@@keddakedda7939 ah yess... he would survive a dessert, it's tasty
There definitely were better options to send him, but at least the sand was soft. Still probably starved to death if not killed sooner by dehydration.
If you recall Isaac lived in a desert before Dracula recruited him. It’s a place Isaac is familiar with how to survive in.
@@kakashi99902 Which makes sense why he sent isaac there. Hes familiar with how the land works.
I like how Dracula was not suprised in the slightest that Carmilla betrayed him. He knew it all along, he simply could not care less.
*War to end humanity going on*
Dracula: meh, whatever.
*someone tries to take his castle*
Dracula: don't make me get out of this fuckin' chair!
This was probably the first act of kindness Isaac had ever known. Dracula saved him because he saw him as a person, rather than a tool. So it's fitting that this event marks the beginning of Isaac's redemption arc.
Didn't Dracula save Issac when they first met?
I'm fine with them changing his race in the anime because I find the design in the game to be complete trash and this one ot be much more appealing.
The race fits him well considering his past story and all. Make his character have more depth, reasons and motivations. One of the well written character in this series. And easily becomes my favourite character.
Wouldnt that be called... Black dirtying?
Everyone’s fine with it because it’s not a whitewash.
In a show full of excellent characters, Isaac still stands out.
The context of season 4 gives even more gravity to this scene than it already had.
2:15 Dracula can pick up Isaac by the shoulder and throw him a good distance with only one hand. Now that is strength.
One thing everyone is missing with this scene is that Dracula acknowledges Isaac as a pure soul and before sending him off, he essentially said the world needs him. Which comes full circle in season 4 against Carmilla. He saved everyone from her madness.
“A villain is just a victim whose story hasn’t been told.”
- Chris Colfer
Let's ignore the many innocent people Isaac's night creatures have murdered 🙈
@@MeaningYT Hes still a victim, just one with more things to atone for. He himself likely accepts he will have to pay for that at some point, and whoever unseats or succeceds him will be a better man than he was.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH *inhale* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. no.
@@MeaningYT im refering to dracula not isaac
@@MeaningYT There probably not innocent in his perspective
After I saw Season 4, Dracula really made the right call saving his bro.
One of the best scenes of fiction I’ve ever seen, this scene is powerful more than I am able to word it.
"Perhaps that is more valuable to the world to come than a dusty collection of books an apparatus."
I don't think Dracula ever intended to wipe out humanity, that's what he wanted but he probably knew the costs for doing it well before anyone else did. I think Alucard was right in calling it a suicide note, but in that moment where Isaac is willing to protect Dracula for no reason other than the very things humanity killed his wife and condemned him for I think he saw what Isaac saw in himself in S3, that he would be the most capable of redeeming the world.
I liked how they made Dracula a sympathetic villian.
In a werid way.. Dracula was right given how Issac turned out in season 4.
I like that even with his blood rage eyes, Dracula respects Isaac enough to save him.
Loved him as a villain(season 1-2c, loved him as an anti hero(season 3), and loved him as a protagonist(season 4).
This Dracula is one of the best characters ever developed. This 'daemon' deserves a comeback. I'm glad that a series gave depth to Dracula. He's such a complex character that lived throughout the ages.
Don't know why but I love when Issac says "They will not reach you while I live"
Isaac the homie who makes sure you're invited whenever the boys goes out
"you would give your mortal life for my immortal one, you are the greatest of your kind" may be the best quote ever.
That's A True BFF Right There.
Dracula's eyes looked so sad when he looked through the portal at issac
The score! The sound design! The way the mirror shimmers out at the right beat! So simple and hard-hitting at the same time.
He failed to save his wife. But succeeded in saving his best friend.
"You have a soul I think"
"I THINK" loool
I feel like that was more of Dracula self-deprecating his own judgement than testament to any character deficiency he perceived Isaac might have had.
Great voice acting... you can really hear the pain in Isaac's voice.
Dracula’s anger causing a bloodmoon was such a good detail
1:23
That Moment right here he was aware of the prophecy and decided in this moment that he can't prevent what will happen next so he decides to save Isaac.
What prophecy?
@@claudius_drusus_ the Prophecy about the "sleeping Soldier" back in season 1.
The Speaker's believed this Prophecy to be information from the future.
When the Soldier awakes he will be aided by a "Scholar" and a "Hunter".
By the small reaction from Dracula I think he was aware about this Prophecy.
@@ignoronb7880 thank you sir! 😊
I'm envious about this cartoon friendship. When we are fools, we need a real friend to save our lives.
To think, Carmilla actually thought she was more powerful than Dracula. This man causes a blood moon without even so much as lifting a finger, and Carmilla thought she had a chance. Rofl.
I've always said that an antagonist with good morals, like wisdom or loyalty, is way more interesting and dangerous than one without.
“Whoever saves one life saves the world entire.”
Isaac is the type of friend that would say to the teacher that it was him who did it even though it was you.
You're not dying today, not for me"
Such a great character. Such a great series
You gotta love how for most of the show, Isaac doesn't show a lot of emotion in his voice. He keeps a very control and calm demeanor. But this is the time and one of the few moments, where he can't control his composure.
He was more loyal than his actual son
@@shahraizkhan7600 Blindly loyal, yes. But his actual Son is true to his Mother's wishes, and the pre-depressed Dracula.
@@aickavon He suffered more than dracula ... perhaps he started not to trust humans too when he put those Japanese siblings on stakes when they betrayed him(At this point he thought that his father was right)
What I love the most is that Dracula knew who Isaac could become. Isaac clearly does some brutal things but he is not evil, and Dracula knew Isaac could help make the world a better place.
Isaac has one of the most insane character developments in the entire series.
People see Dracula for what he is capable of.. he's a force of nature centered around destruction. He's really a normal person.. who is ridden with grief.. imagine having to live FOREVER without the thing Yu love most... And to have to look at the people who took that from you. He only found peace in his death which let him be with Lisa.. and people wonder why he has an aneurism Everytime an idiot revives him.
Was that a fond smile Dracula? Hmph. Bro move bro. Bro move.
The best villains are the one you can understand.
My latest 2 experiences for this are Castlevanias Dracula as well as Emet-Selch from Final Fantasy 14
What about Ardyn Izunia from FF XV??
Only Dracula can turn the moon blood red. And he's been starved for a year. Carmilla wasn't even able to do this when her eyes turned red.
This scene wrecks me every time I watch it.
I just want to point out how beautiful the music is as Dracula saves Isaac’s life. It feel’s sorrowful, regretful even. That the time has come that Dracula would have to let his most loyal follower and friend go
He showed him loyalty till the end, Dracula doesn't want an old man suicide story cost him Isaac's life
This is so sweet and heartbreaking 🤗🥺😭Part of me loves that this scene cements their friendship. We should all hope to find someone whose happiness we would put above our own and who would do the same for us
00:56 did he just pissed so hard he created a BloodMoon. The man's mood change weather and you think Carmilla could take this man down ?
And this dracula is one who is weakened, never feed for a long long time, and is not at his full power. I would like to see Carmilla fight Dracula and the expression on her face when she see how outmatch she is.
@@gooddreams8495 To be able to see that would be a treat most certainly.
Drac's a real one
The background theme here is just beautiful.
Isaac is the best character of the entire show
Isaac has been amazing over all. From the drastically new design of his character and his voice actor. Top form.
And this, my friends, was the start of the best character development I've ever seen
lot of love Dracula had for issac
Man, stone ocean looks great!
Love this show. It was absolutely charming to me. The characters and the setting had the depth I'd hoped for.
I must say all these videos on CZcams are incredibly useful
Isaac was a real friend to Dracula. That's why he couldn't let him die there.
that sad look on Dracula face when he throw him out... it's killing me
Dracula saw how great Issac would be one day and so he spared him
Isaac has the same level of amazing character development as Zuko from Avatar the last airbender lol.
i love how issac grows from this season to the lastest
Carmilla rebelled against Dracula with an awesome plan. Meanwhile she lost against Isaac. If not for the Trio, she would be very dead.
Isaac: “I choose my death as I chose my life”
Dracula: *”cool but ima yeet you into the Sahara desert”*
The act that allowed for one of the best character development arcs ever. Isaac went from being a blind servant bent on revenge, to being... well... _the amazing philosopher that he would later become._
Well this is touching. When you know a monster is so kind hearted. He even push him somehwere he won’t be involve just to save him. Itntruly touched my heart.
and thus the mvp of the next seasons was born
