This is the story of “Momentous,” the breathtaking new nighttime spectacular opening mid-June at Hong Kong Disneyland.
“Momentous” combines stunning projection technology with intricately designed lighting and laser effects, pyrotechnics, fireworks effects, flames, and choreographed fountains to tell a story and create a spectacle unlike anything ever seen at Hong Kong Disneyland. Here’s a look behind the scenes as our Disney Live Entertainment team prepares “Momentous” for its grand debut.

The backing soundtrack of this video alone is better than all of enchantment, and it’s not even close
I almost cried after watching this video, it brings back so much memories and it’s so emotional to me, the fireworks and everything… I mean I’m lucky I live in Hong Kong but man this should be what WDW’s 50th Anniversary got for their show lol

Why does this show have a better message than Disney Enchantment? Instead of that cliche 'tHe MaGiC iS iN yOu' nonsense Enchantment spouts, this show actually will have a meaningful message to take away at the end about living life to the fullest and cherishing the special memories. You'd think a show coinciding with Disney World's 50th anniversary would have a message like that, but no.
This show looks like a powerhouse! After some lesser efforts (understatement), fantastic to see the team’s still got it. Go Hong Kong 🇭🇰

I went to it, the show is amazing, it also feels very like Hong Kong, the Asia's world city and also the home of the Symphony of Lights. Ngl, this puts the SoL to shame lol, the Hong Kong skyline needs some upgrades now XDXDXD

I mean with Enchantment, I think it is only for WDW's 50th anniversary. So, I am guessing that afterwards they will make a new show. But, this is going to be here all year-round so, they had to make this one great. With Enchantment, it should be a short-term show so, they don't need to make as great. I think both shows look fantastic.
Hopefully that's what happens. Disneyland Paris has Illuminations for their 25th and Tokyo had Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland for their 35th. Both of those shows kept running for years beyond the celebration year with modified elements, removing the "25th" and "35th" from the show visuals.

The soundtrack has already released by Hong Kong Disney Geek CZcams channel, just poorly quality main soundtrack of it.
On the other hand, we got high-quality exit music soundtrack for Momentous.
@@ians4535 I wouldn't call that a release at all. I do know the video you are talking about. That audio was just straight out of live audio from either the Magical Party Beats or somewhere else, and then it was edited with changing the base and treble.

Looks like a great show and that castle is just magnificent, my 2nd favorite after Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disnleyland Paris. Can't wait to visit HKDL again, the last time I was there was in 2017.

They threw together a disney + fireworks commerical for the 50th firework show rather than something like this & HEA that tells a story. I love disney but am just so disappointed in Magic Kingdoms show 😭
The US Disney Parks are overpriced and overrated, meanwhile the overseas parks have been getting everything we wish we had. ):
While we love the international parks, we would still love a Disney World sized park here in Asia. Not counting Shanghai Disney since it's just a super blownout Disneyland.

So this is gonna be just castle fireworks and fountains? No huge fireworks in the sky?
I'm not sure but I think that the fireworks may came back after finishing Frozenland because that area used to be for big fireworks. They may have to place the fireworks behind Frozenland
Mostly due to Disney not wanting to spend the money on fireworks and because of the issues they have setting them off in the middle of a city. Noise pollution etc
We won't know until Frozen Land is done since that was where the old firing area was. But most likely it won't have the large shells since the surrounding communities are against the large shells due to how loud those where.

@@ians4535 Yes, so I said they may have to transfer the launch somewhere after Frozenland construction finish. It's not safe to shoot fireworks during construction. Or like other said, large fireworks are canceled due to noise pollution
this show would have been better for the 50th anniversary of wdw! it sucks for wdw!
Honestly this just makes me upset that WDW got stuck with Enchantment. It is clear lots of effort went into blending 3rd characters with the architecture projections on the castle for Momentous. The same can't be said for Enchantment which was very clearly made on a tight budget in terms of new animation and projection drawings and just flashes characters on a blurred background with no real storytelling.

They redo the animations? The projection show always use old cartoon clips only. Never redo the animation to fit the movement
I love how they just seem over it. Morale is literally dead in this place. Everything feels devoid of spirit and sincerity. This does make sense with how the parks have evolved under Chapek's cheap iron grip. It is also sad how no BIPOC & specifically no asian creatives were in this video at all no matter their title or rank.
