@@helloken I get why players dont. The game is on edge and it feels like every irridiate is essential to win so they end up sacrificing 5-6 vessels to cast 1-2 irridiates right now. same, still getting chills and knowing there is at least a cast a day I can click on to get my fix is awesome and I'm super grateful. Started watching ASL as a GSL fan. Initially I randomly watched like every. single. Husky solo cast, but eventually found GSL and at some point SC2 was just too cool not to try for myself. I was GARBAGE, I still remember massing DTs in my first ever online matches and the guy whispering me saying "you can't just make DTs man, you need zealots and stalkers" and I HATED that. So I started learning Zerg because I was pissed and random interneters said it was the hardest race to learn for a beginner. I worked hard at it and got plat, and finally diamond as random playing macro builds. I still remember looking at the congrats icon animate, banging on the table screaming gutterally like a soccer fan, walking around my house for the rest of the night making dumb jokes about diamonds like "see these hands? These are DIAMOND hands! See this mouse?" like so many years before that meme was even a thing. My girlfriend had no idea wtf I was saying. With that confidence, I finally picked the gentleman's race and rolled Terran 100% and Gumiho is still my spirit animal. I learned TheCore keyboard layout because my tiny hands can't reach any of the F keys and I have the mouse accuracy of hellen keller so I needed an edge, access to all 8 camera positions and all 10 control groups clustered tightly under my micro hands. SC is so steeped in it's own history at this point that absolutely insane things can happen that have so much meaning behind them, like TY coming into ASL right away in his return to Brood War after winning/casting GSL to knock out all-time GOAT of zerg JD with a typical 200iq TY build. When I was only watching/playing SC2 it was still an event to see Flash, Jaedong, Soulkey, all these legends with their stories behind them come in and do really well. Flash being so goated he is playing Random in ASL awakened my inner Tiger and made me realize my inner Tiger is Flash's bitch. That was wild. There is nothing like the acquired taste of Starcraft and as a spectator the experience ages like a fine wine, and I will not stop drinking o7
Stim'd Firebats with defensive matrix don't care about dark swarm, can wipe out 50 lings in a microsecond, obliterate stacked lurkers or annihilate mineral lines. It baffles me how underused they are in the pro scene.
I think it's because when the gameplay gets to late game, the zerg's natural transition against SK terran is ultralisks. Because high level terrans know this, terrans typically secure the 3rd gas and they will begin producing tanks and vessels in anticipation of that transition. The tank/vessel/MM terran combination still is good against ling, hydra defiler. Why waste the gas and supply on 20 firebats when you can start stacking the tank count.
I feel like I see them a lot considering it’s something you only make against Zerg. Only making 2-3 is prob the smartest play. Just keep a few in with marine med combo and u got a cool looking army
Artosis! I love how effective you are using the zoom in and out feature with this cast! Its really nice to get glimpses of the full battle and then zoom ins on the mini skirmishes!
It's much better now. In earlier videos he spent too much time zoomed way out where it was hard to see the action. (Not a complaint! I like the zooms, as long as he goes back to the standard zoom right after.)
Everyone playing their games publicly reminds me a lot like Chess. A chess player today would absolutely destroy an equivalent, or even better player 100 years ago thanks to technology giving us better practice techniques, and knowledge of not just popular openers and tactics, but also the counterplays. When Magnus Carlsen plays an unorthodox opener on stream, or in a tournament, the next day people are already practicing it on the ladder. Chess hasn't been patched in over 200 years (since en-passant was added)
I do love the games where both players take damage early on- it’s interesting to see how the players approach developing their game from there disruption
That plague on those 4 tanks at the 4th and then the long run by to kill them was super clutch by hero to break that position. It's super impressive how those gosu players can make strong decisions not only for the ongoing fight but also prepare for the next wave. Sick plays
I dont have any social media besides yt, so I dont have anywhere else to post this. But my friend died last night in a car crash :( He was my gaming buddy. Hey tosis! Do you think the faster speed of the meta game changing is making it so jaedong isn't able to analyze strategies and find weak spots to exploit as well as he used to when it evolved slower? I thought about that when you mentioned how he does that during your asl cast the other day
The problem is the amout of gas per firebat so a fully mech transition is almost impossible this strat is for early games only and the pro scene always gets to late game(for obvious reasons). Maybe on maps that have double gas on natural base can somehow enable this strat but i doubt it cuz those type of maps re not popular on the pro scene.

Firebats with medics actually do well against mass zealot too. Not that you see that combination often since protoss usually is goon heavy

Firebats should be used more. What about mixing some spidermines in? A mine under the swarm cant be killed before impacting right?
