This channel is so underrated. CZcams do your thing!! ✊🏽
Whooohooo thanks Alex, let's talk speak that algorithm into place hehe!
very true
This is the first tips/ideas video I've seen that combined the shooting style with the directing style. Super effective results. Thank you!
Great stuff. Looking for new content creators to follow in 2022 - you're on top of my list! The tip on directing non-professional actors is hugely helpful. I just did a 4 day shoot with 'talent' provided by the client. It went fine, but props for them to engage with was the key. Keep up the great work.
That's a big compliment, thanks Matt! Hope to bring out more of these!
Thinking how genius you are! Thanks Jacques
Thanks for your kind words, you're welcome!
@@jacques_crafford I've already finished watching all of your videos last night. Just need more of this. Thanks again.
This is pure art of filmmaking! Love your content, Jacques! Super useful and creative!

Awesome! Starting the new year strong. Look forward to the rest of your content for 2022!
Yeeew thanks bro, I'm keen to push out more quality videos this year! Hope we meet again soon!
Seeing the footage and the camera movement behind I feel like I can create something like this too. Then you go outside and see that you just can't do it haha. I'm so excited for everything that comes and how I will get better over time! - Thanks for the knowledge and advice, appreciate it!
Thanks mate, I agree it does take some practice but I hope you can get the results you want super soon :)
I'm still learning the Video Camera gestures, good to follow
Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate your comment! ☺️
It's amazing! Thanks you for greatest shots!
This is so incredibly helpful. I'm always looking to add movement to a piece but having these tools in the bag is going to make a massive difference. Fantastic!
Thank you Matt, so happy to hear that!
Finally! good and fresh information that aren't annoying transitions that everyone does now alongside teal and orange. I love it when commercial filmmakers do youtube videos!!
Such a refreshing comment, thanks Zion I really appreciate that! Gonna do a lot more this year :)
Thanks so much for such a great video! The best I've seen on CZcams about camera movement!! ❤
Thank you soo much for this video. It is very big help to me💯
The amount of time I spent on CZcams trying to find videos like this! This is amazing and extremely helpful. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for this. Please do more of these. Subscribed.
Edit: Can we have something like this (camera movements) for weddings? Like couple shoots with gimbal or without?
I'm sooo glad to hear that, thanks for your feedback and support. I'll be doing a ton of these this year. Sadly I don't film weddings anymore but I'll see if I still have something with couples :)
Compliment Jacques for your creative videos 👏 It's very often the little things in filmmaking that make a big difference 😉 best cinematic greetings from germany

Wow - a real video camera - and shooting horizontal video instead of those narrow band vertical cellphone crap. Nice!
Hehe thank you!
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this! Can't wait to try them 😊
Pleasure is all mine Imran, hope you get some amazing footage!
You always have such creative and unique talking points unlike what I hear from other creators. Nothing against them, but you approach your craft differently and it reflects beautifully in your edits. Your videos and teaching are changing my thought processes and approach for the better with my videos. Thank you!
Miles! Man this has to be my favourite comment of all time. Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm striving to add more value in ways that are new and creative since there are already so much content out there. Big ups for your support!

Jacques, as always, an excellent video with lots of great advice and useful tips.

This is gold!! Thank you so much for all the quality content you’re providing. 👍🏻
Only a pleasure David, thanks for taking the time to comment, grateful for your feedback!
Nothing could've explained better ! Love it !
I watched hours of content from people always giving the same CZcams trendy shots which are not really cinematic and every shot you mentioned is cinematic even without music or any atmosphere and you even talking above it.
Great work!
This is one of the best comments I could receive, THANK YOU! I hope to make many more like this!
Dude where has your channel been all my life, I have learned more from your channel in the last 2 days then like 90% of the other channels, break downs are simple and clear and not clouded with useless garbage. Thank you!
Dude, thank you so much! Your feedback means the world to me! I hope to make a lot of these videos that are concise and full of value :)
This is soooo good. This video has so much value❤
LOVE YOUR CONTENT JACQUES.... THANKS FOR ALL THE TIPS..
You're so welcome brother! Thanks for your kind words
Wow! This might be the greatest video tutorial on filmmaking I've experienced so far. Far above beginner level. Maybe I'm biased being a fellow Capetonian, nevertheless as a martial arts coach for most my life, Jacques this is your video killing it on the teaching skills. You are my next mentor. Dude thanks man, so glad to hear that! Love support from locals, hope you find a lot of value in the videos to come!

Is i want to do photography and videography, whats the best camera to buy this 2024
Solid advice - beautifully demonstrated. Visual Storytelling - accomplished! Well done. With love from Atlanta.
Wow. The slow motions was really cool. 😮
This was very informative I would like to know about how you chose your locations and what goes in term of production and set design
Thanks Usama! I'll have to make a separate video about that because this was examples taken from many different projects. I'll see what I can do :)
Great tutorials 🤙🏻
Thanks bro!
What a helpful video
Thank you

Thoroughly enjoyed this, really appreciate your sharing it
Really appreciate that you watched it! 🙏
Wow! It's been a while since I've seen anything ACTUALLY informative on CZcams! You're shots are amazing! I will definitely use the "Bicycle reveal shot" in the future. Love that one!
So stoked to hear that, thanks for taking the time to give your feedback :)
Cameraman never Dies, Bro Youa re Immortal!!!
Thanks very much :D
This is crazy TIPS. Awesome content
Thanks so much, glad you found the tips helpful.
Please what about the shutter speed
Good question, I'm doing a full guide about that soon :)
Great video :) However I just want to point out that changing the focal length of your lens does NOT affect your perspective. Perspective only changes when your shooting distance changes, so zooming in post has the same effect as zooming on the lens when it comes to perspective
Thanks for the feedback Will. I think it might just be the use of the word "perspective" really what I'm referring to is compression, there's a massive changes from 24-50mm+ something you can't get in post.
@@jacques_crafford yeah compression is the same thing, you can do a test by taking two photos in the same spot of the same subject, one at 50mm and the other at 24mm but cropped to 50mm, you’ll find the end result to have the exact same perspective/compression :)
a zoomed pic and cropped will be different. longer lenses compress the image and change the perspective. people can get confused I know, but its true. a picture of a human face at 20mm looks much ,much different than one shot on a 100
@@flipnap2112 wrong. Try taking a picture with 20mm and 100mm of a human face from the same spot and crop the 20mm to the same frame as 100mm, you'll notice they look exactly the same
Compression is the result of shooting distance, NOT the lens, it's a common mistake
@@willchao1733 you can look it up, its pretty easy to find the answer
Amazing Video man, thanks
Excellent 👍 and beautiful ❤
I really liked this Tut
Dude...this is awesome. I've been looking for something like this discussing the subtleties of rotation and eye movement for a couple of years now. Please make more of this stuff. 🙌🙌🙌
Yeeew thanks Ramy! This is the kind of stuff that gets me excited. There's no point in just showing a movement if it doesn't coincide with the movement of the talent and it all makes a huge difference.
@@jacques_crafford absolutely 💯
awesome!! I'll try it tomorrow🇯🇵
Whooohooo hope it comes out super epic!
