- This video is just a quick review and demo of the Sundstrom SR200 Respirator.
I think it is the best respirator on the market because of its amazing Swedish quality, great comfortable fit, eye protection, versatility etc.
I say versatile because it can be used as an air fed respirator or if no quality air supply is available you can use the standard Sundstrom cartridge filters.

Good that you give us these videos on keeping us healthy, just as important as your spraying ones, we all want to live long and spray more shit.

good info gunman 👍
great information!
Good video man a esspecelly about the of two pack paint a lot diy don't have the right protection due the cost .spraying in closed area even with a decent mask can cause all sorts of health problems which l have experienced myself .
Looks like a really nice respirator have a good day mate..
I use a 3M Versaflo respirator, it's great to wear 8 hours a day. I use the Jupiter system to feed it, but you can also use compressed air. The Versaflo looks more comfortable then the Sundstrom. It's very light weight and you have less stuff close to your skin. It does come at a high price (1000€ for the Versaflo+Jupiter) but having to wear it every day for 8 hours it's worth every penny.
I just got one today. Will test it out next week
+Froot Loose let me know your thoughts, you should be impressed.
keep them lungs safe mr gunman 👍👍👍
I use a Sundstrom with filters and a motor bike visor which has a very good foam seal and easy to wear as solvents can get in through your eyes. I now have scuba diving hoses as they are designed for breathable air, a scuba diving compressor system is the ultimate way to go for mask fed air.
Have you got a link to the scuba hoses you use, I'm interested.
Hi gunman, I went to a farm clearance sale and bought a diving compressor, it had a 4 cylinder Clisby 14cfm motor, has oil crank but apparently are used for scuba diving, they call them hookahs, the proper scuba ones are oil less and expensive, I wanted a good compressor, anyway, I got the whole bundle for $50, it had a pile of yellow hoses, large fabricated aluminium tank, so I thought about the hoses once I got home as a bloke said they are breathable hoses which are especially designed for humans to breathe clean air, I don't have a link as they are on the net to research, so when I watched this video I thought maybe one should have a stand alone air system as the normal hoses must be smelly to breathe out of, I bought a 3hp motor and have been putting the compressor together as it was in pieces, the compressor itself works well, I am still working on it.
hi, gunman, I went to a farm clearance sale and bought a diving compressor, it came with a 4 cylinder Clisby motor 14cfm, which I took apart and it works well as it had a new piston installed, it came with a pile of yellow hoses, a friend said they were scuba diving hoses especially designed for humans to breathe clean air, I got the lot for $50, it came with a fabricated aluminium tank, when I watched this video I thought maybe one should be using the same type of system as the normal compressor hoses must be a bit smelly, the Clisby uses oil in the case but the expensive ones use oil less, mine appears to be called a hookah, I don't have a link but can be researched on the net, the hoses are especially lined so must be better for a good spray job as well, it came in pieces so I bought a 3hp motor and I have been putting it together.
@@TheGunmanChannel i think this is what he is talking about airlinebyjsink.com/
Hey gunman, been thinking of doing a bit of spraying on a project commodore.
Is that mask with the built in filters good? Sort of sounds like your against them but that might be your situation for every day use
Thanks for this video, can I ask what cartridges you use for spraying and or sanding?
great you are using one of these. We didnt have them in my day. So I am at the age wondering when it is going to get me. Some of my friends already have died of COPD. The ones that covered your eyes always had plastic and after a job you could not see. The glass is a cool idea Dont know why it took so long to have glass. Thank god I only did auto paint for a few years commercially. So maybe I have a chance of not getting cancer.
Mike F hi
Hi. great info on all your vids cheers mate,
Question, what would you clean your polycarbonate visor with that would not damage and eat into the polycarbonate visor and mist it `but will remove any 2k and epoxy primer?
And also, is there different model name for the glass visor version
I'm just curious, what belt system do you use for your air fed respirator? Or is there a belt filter system that you would recommend?
was here reminds me I need to get a new paint mask
If i paint my car in my front garden and have an extractor fan in a pop up garage thats blowing the overspray into a charcoal filter... would this be exceptable?
Jesteś najlepszy!!!👍👍👍
We use 'Rip-Off screen protectors on our similar mask 3M 6800. might be worth looking for this with your Sundstrom mask
What you can recomend sundstrøm SR200 or 3M6800?
Can you show us how your hood stand is made if it's self made
What is the belt called where the mask and gun hooks up can i order online?
Hi mate, thank you for the video, what do you think about IWATA airfed2100? Thanks
Do you have your gun running off the regulator too? As I've seen that the regulator only comes with air in and then the air out to mask feed
Woop! Short...yet you still manage to get all the right information in. Others should take notice on how to do it :)
I've got an epoxy primer job to do and I've been told that stuff is way worse than even 2k. So I need a full system. Would prefer to buy a £40 cartridge mask but I guess it's not worth the risk. But like you say...it's not just the mask. You need all the filters etc. So it ends up £600+ Ha!
Sy Mon I think you've been misinformed. Epoxy is a 2 pack and from what I have used so far has not contained isocyanates unlike acrylic 2 pack paints. I very much doubt they are worse for your health
Thanks, dude :) But it wasn't from the ingredients side of it...it was more from the fact the epoxy particles are far tougher and harder for the lungs and body to break down than normal paint particles. I will contact the company (MIPA) and ask them directly as I'd be more than happy to get by with a normal filter half face mask :D Cheers for the reply, it's much appreciated.
Epoxy is worse . . I can not open the tin without wearing a vapour mask. I was told Epoxy is worse too . . . I suppose it has to be to bite into metal
yeah but it does not contain isocyanates.
the hardener does bro its on the data sheet
I have these im gonna wear these at school for corona
Make sure the particulate filter is the high enough rating, at least P2 (P97?) rated.
What would you say the advantage of this sort of respirator versus a full face visor/hood ? I've never really looked into masks like this as a glasses wearer, I find I have to stick to a half mask or a full hood.
I like the size, they are easier to store, the glass makes cleaning simple and best vision, they fit me better and also being TGM I can fit my head mount camera over it.
Can you please try and find an Iwata lph400 lvx extreme orange aircap to review for base and clearcoat.I'm really interested how you would set it up and your overall thoughts. Thanks Gunman
look at mr corrosiveones vids, amazing stuff!
Yeah, Ive seen Mr.Corrosiveones vids and he is bad ass at painting, but I wanted to see what the Gunman thinks of the Iwata LPH 400 LVX Extreme Orange Aircap.
You ever have trouble with the inside of your mask fogging up? Have just gotten my sr200 and the inside fogs up even when it has been at the temp of the rooms for awhile.
If it's glass visor use the heat gun to warm it up prior to spraying.
I'm looking to upgrade to a full mask and am wondering if the single filter / adapter is interfering with your field of vision or is that no problem at all?
It's not a problem at all for me, I am yet to find another full face mask that's as comfortable and gives me as good vision as this one. The glass lens and silicon rubber outer is the real advantage. All the other ones have big bulky head sets with plastic lenses.
@@TheGunmanChannel Thanks I think I will give it a try and see how it fits.
Should I just get the pc mask if working with fiberglass?
tip top glass visor
American gunman here
hey gunman this is off topic but are their a lot off Subaru brats there in Australia ?...I think it's called a brumby there.I'm restoring an 84 model and their ain't shit for parts in the states.
Do you have experience of using the respirator without the external blower unit with just cartridge filters? Is visor fogging an issue?
It can be an issue in the colder months. But I found if you warm it up quickly with a heat gun that fixes it.
Are these filters proprietary and the respirator doesn't accept military filters?
Hello, I bought this. The manual says do not use with isocyanate paints?
It is likely going to be referring to when using cartridges
Hi there my name is Adrian I bort a sr 200 with glass in for 400 bux brand new and my son started a spray paint apprenticeship and thay gave him a sr200 mask with a air fed set up but never used it he gave it to me but not used it yet the video are grate thanks one day you will send a message back to me
Is a half mask safe to use for 2K clear coat?
I would say yes, only for occasional use. For us guys that are spraying daily you'd really want full air fed with eye protection.
Will prescription eyeglasses fit under this mask ?
They might... but they would definitely break the airtight seal.
You would need a full-face respirator to have optical inserts fitted in them or get a half-face mask and get safety goggles over your spectacles.
wat color were you painting just now?
4imag
it is pretty, had a 66 ford falcon w/midnight blue metallic very similar to it, i was thinking it was the same? would like to know also
Hello TubeBuddy. I featured your channel name in my latest video "Freeze". I hope that was okay with you. I like your channel.
Not a problem at all, I'm honored.
ciao,,,pero prova con i ral si ataca come il diavolo e nn si tira via
can you paint my car? wher is your location?
you cauld get a proper mask with that money XD
This is the best on the market.
@@TheGunmanChannel the Airboss LBM is the best mask on the market.
$530 no thanks
Chump change for a good tradesman who wants to live long.
The Gunman if we wanted to live long we wouldn't be in this trade. rip
My grandpa was in this trade all his life and died at 80, the paints weren't as bad as they are these days, if wearing a good air fed respirator with eye protection gets me an extra 5 days then it's money well spent. Each to their own, do what you will.
only the people who love this job, enjoy their toys, sundstrom the best.
I've seen you use a DA on several jobs. Which brand or model do you recommend?
+AO202 I've got a Chicago Pneumatic one I got from spraygunsdirect.co.uk and it's great
