I've been on vacation for my whole summer break now. Right when i got back, I hopped onto working on this edit and finally I'm done! I really liked Alita and hoped to do some kind of edit capturing Hugo and Alita's entire love story because it's really underrated and I haven't seen anyone do it. I cried tons at the end of the movie and they deserved to be happy ;( I hope you enjoy and more edits coming soon now that I'm back on track!

Sorry folks, but you have to accept the fact that he _is_ dead. Like, _really_ dead. His fate is revealed in the manga. But he's not gone forever since I'm pretty sure his soul is at peace now. It's just really sad that he barely got to Sky City in a good way. R.I.P Hugo. T-T

This movie is one of the best movies i have ever seen
How ? The writing was awful, the plot and dialogue in particular, the acting was average at best. The only half way reasonable thing about this movie was the animation. She literally falls in love with a guy she’s spoken too about 5 times.

In the manga/OVA, their love story is more of a one-way fare and he is only obsessed with going up to Zalem. In the movie, they changed it to sort of a puppy love so that Alita can grow to become more determined and badass. In this one movie, you can already see Alita growing from a naive girl into a strong young woman. Can't wait for the sequels.
Well, you'll definitely hate the Hugo in manga. He's focused on going to Zalem and didn't really much acknowledge Alita.

Well in the manga, when alita confronted him before that hunter warrior fucked up his body, he said in his thoughts that he probably wait for alita to go with her together. It when he got robotic body that he decided to fuck it all.
If a man finds such love thats not build on sex, money, or social status but only on mutual feelings and deep connection of souls willing to sacrifice everything for one another, that man gets all the life success ever even if he was a street sweeper.
hugo and alita's love is very very beautiful! Words are lacking to express the truth of the love between these two. Great movie, too bad it didn't have a sequel.😭❤️✨

I was crying when Hugo died, it was also so unexpected.
I think it’s an amazing storyline, graphics, and actors. It’s just the way the movie plays out and the way It was directed I believe but it is kinda hard to understand the plot and the Story and what happened because it was moving at a very fast pace

I’ve never seen this film, I watched this edit and it made me want to watch it and now I’ve watched it nearly 5 times in the past 3 days. it gets me every time ❤️ i love this edit its amazing!! Tbh, i'm sorry to say this but Hugo was the dumbest character ever!?!? Like dudeeeee, Alita did soooo much for him and he threw it away in a split second, you know who I did feel bad for? That friend of his who got sliced protecting him even though Hugo betrayed him... oof

While Alita is perhaps as perfect as an adaption as it can get, some of the nuance of why Yugo/Hugo was so hellbent in reaching Zalem was lost: He found living in iron City to be demeaning towards his own existence, for it a palce for refuse, scrap and garbage. And he had to prove to himself he was none of the former. The overarching tragedy of it was that , as in the movie, he realized at the very last moment that he did not need to go to Zalem "to be someone" : He had Gally/Alita, and even if they had to live in squalor, he was treasure for her. In her own words he was "her secret dream"
But he was also trying to escape from those hunting him
He didnt betray his friend. He was just trying to stop their cruel business practice of chopping people up. He grew as a character and that was largely thanks to Alita. Also, he was being hunted and saw Zalem as an escape. His thinking was flawed. They were never gonna let him up. But he wasnt thinking straight and was desperate.

I loved him at first, but right after Alita sacrificed so much to save him, Hugo throws it all away leaving her to pursue a dream that was impossible to achieve at the moment. And as if that wasn't enough, he dies again. I cried a lot and I felt so sorry for her :(

The the tahts meaningful about it is that is perfect allegory for the people who spent their lives chasing for high goals but eventually fail to realize that everything they need is right next to them.
He was also obsessed with Zalem to the point of taking parts of cyborgs... he proved to be a good guy but i guess being a cyborg took a toll on him... his obsession and hope that the bounty will not be effective in Zalem intoxicates his mind... the anime and manga shows more depth to his fall on insanity but the movie and the actors/actresses did a great job in acting too!!

I recently discovered this movie within the past week and I have completely fallen in love with the story line. I have watched it at least 1,469.37 to the 10th power times in this past week and I just can’t get enough. I don’t know I think I keep watching it in hopes there will be an alternate happy 😊 ending for the two uh but NO right back to balling my eyes out 😭 like a big baby. The way it ended I sure hope 🤞 there will be a sequel here soon in the near future wishful thinking 💭 🤔 and bring back Hugo for Alita somehow even though they say it doesn’t happen according to the book 📚 but it is Sci-fi and they said anything could happen. The character Alita is one BADA** B*TCH 🤘🏼🤘🏼 Rock on Girl! For everything this girl endures during the movie and still stays strong 💪 what a Hero 🦸♀️!!!! I couldn’t agree more with you I wish they would have given them more of an opportunity to show more of their story together it was very touching and it chokes me up every time I watch it even though I know what is going to happen.
