An Old Fashioned Hymn Sing brought back so many wonderful memories. God is so good. I just love music praising Him. He is my Lord and Savior. I have enjoyed joining in on this hymn sing.

Have been listening from Melbourne, Australia. What a wonderful evening! Some hymns I’ve never heard before. Great musicians. I’m fortunate to attend a church where we still sing some of these wonderful old hymns. Some of the modern songs are ok, but these old hymns are WONDERFUL!
You mention how everyone there volunteers their time. My 90 year old Dad also volunteers his time everyday to create an online devotional list for about 25 people who regularly subscribe. Today he included your video. I thought this was a lovely addition to his devotionals.

There is NOTHING that speaks to my soul like the hymns and being in uplifting services like this! This worship to my Lord is genuine, but then I’m 70 yrs old and no one seems to care except past generations. How very sad indeed.

That accordian player was great. Nice bass work along with the melody. Most of us old accordian players are considered as dinosaurs. It was great to see and hear old time gospel hymns played on an accordian. And that fellow is good. Our church has been reduced to a bunch of guitar twanging noise. You folks are blessed to still be enjoying the old hymns.
Theodore my sister played the accordian while we were growing up and she was quite good. Like you, I’m not into the loud music at our churches. More like entertainment than worshipping God. May God keep us all safe and healthy!

@@doc5701 yes it is, at a retirement village. It sounds like they invite people from the community, and some of the participants don’t live there, but live nearby. It is sad to not see younger people there, but unless they have someone there, like grandparents, they might not go there, even it is advertised locally, unless they like that style of music. I love the old hymns too.

This reminds me of the Old Fashioned Revival Hour we used to listen to on the radio Sunday afternoons many years ago, broadcast out of L.A., with Rev. Charles E. Fuller and pianist Rudy Atwood.
HelenHighwater we listened to the Old Fashioned Revival Hour while we were getting ready for church. Haven’t heard these names for years. Brings back many happy memories.
@@JanReasonover I have parts of their songbook that my mom had, too bad some pages are missing but the pictures of Rev. Fuller and the choir remain.

I am so blessed with the beautiful hymns which I really loved to sing. I missed playing the accordion which I used to play when I was younger.

I live in California, it's getting hard to find churches in my area that still sing the old hymns of the faith. I love the old hymns!
To wonderful for words . I love this Hymn Sing more than i can say . Our God is so wongerful , I'm glad someone wrote the song WONDERFUL GRACE OF JESUS . It says it better than i ever could . I am so thankful for that wonderful grace . I am so glad i found you on UTube . It came to me at the best time , being isolated from everyone , but i have Jesus . Like you in the USA we are in self isolation in Scotland U.K because of the Covid19 virus. So with nothing better to do, I've been spending more time on the internet and came across your Hymn Sing by chance. What a blessing hearing those hymns sung so well and from the heart! I've been truly blessed, praise the Lord! Reminds me of my youth in the Caribbean singing many of these hymns in the little Gospel Hall and at home. I just hope and pray more young people will grasp the truth of these timeless hymns.

In the same boat in Arizona! I remember singing these hymns in my youth. Feeling sad that my own kids hardly know them. So we're listening Sunday evenings while we work on puzzles.😊 Some of the positive aspects of this terrible illness.

I believe that it is called The Worship Hymnal, and was published in 1971, and it’s a hymnal that the Mennonite Brethren used. I remember Steve telling the story that he had borrowed them from the church he belonged to (after they upgraded hymnals, I guess), but he said that they probably wouldn’t want them back, and the room that they had been stored in had a fire. It’s good to see them being used.

I have been incredibly blessed by these hymn sings & thank you for posting them! I just learned today from one of the program that Stephen Vincent is Home with the Lord. That saddens me on this side of Heaven but rejoicing that he is with our Lord. I am inspired by his love for the Lord, his wonderful talents as a pianist, organist, song leader, etc. & look forward to seeing & hearing him in Glory. On this program, I was also blessed by all the others who participated including Vernon Janzer on the accordion. I learned that he wrote a book "The Exhilarating Life: Living by God-given principles." I can't find it on ebay or amazon & wondered if you have a contact name/address that I can potentially order one? Thank you & God bless you all!
What an absolute blessings these hymn sings have been. We just discovered them now during this pandemic and what a joy to listen to these great old hymns and choruses, and sing along. Love the wonderful organ and piano playing. Have listened to most of the hymn sings a couple times already. Are you planning on posting the earlier hymn sings, i.e. #1 to #32? Thank you so much for those wonderful way of reaching out to people around the world with great quality music! We are in Dawson Creek BC Canada.
Thank you for your kind words, Grace. I'm sorry that the earlier Hymn Sings were not recorded. I enjoyed attending them and when I asked Steve if I could record them, he said, "Who would watch them?" but he gave permission and I happily started recording them. I'm glad we have these and hopefully soon Palm Village will allow more!
@@Drewgmaddox Yes, hopefully there will be more recording. So thoroughly enjoy them over and over again. There is nothing that can replace the great old hymns with good solid theology. Blessings!
@@Drewgmaddox I do watch them. I started watching them during the early stages of the pandemic, when I wasn’t able to go, and play the organ, at my own church. The organ reminds me of Sunday mornings at my grandparents’ church in Pennsylvania, when we visited them down there, and it sounds the same, and is the same brand, but 20 years older than the chapel organ, and they used a grand piano there as well.

Wonderful, but why running so fast when sing Hymns. it meant to digest the words and sing in right tempo. It may not easy for everyone to follow your very fast tempo. hope you consider it. thanks, Praise the Lord for you all who faithfully worship Him.

As we sit in isolation in Cape Town, South Africa during Holy Week leading to Easter I was looking for hymn singing on you tube and came across your programme. Having being brought up on the Methodist Church Hymnal singing in the church choir from the age of 5 and having married a church organist and minister, your programmes are such a spiritual uplifting experience especially as we cannot go to church. It is 3am, how the time has flown, I started listening at 10pm. Thank you for this programme. I notice that the programmes seemed to have stopped on 31 December 2019, is this correct? So glad you could join us! The Hymn Sings used to be monthly, but due to Steve Vincent's passing are now being held quarterly. We were scheduled to have one in March but due to the COVID-19 shelter in place order, this has been delayed. Sorry to say I do not yet know the date of the next Hymn Sing. Thanks again for worshiping with us!
