      To correct your straps...you can detach and reattach in a crossover in the back if there's enough fabric...or detach from the front and use a coordinating fabric to lengten your straps to make it look intentional and cross them over...or you can add a strap between the two straps...you'd have to pull it over your head, but a strap about bra-strap height is a cute fix and you can seam rip your straps and hide the ends inside so it looks original and intentional...just a couple thoughts

    We made this style apron back in 7th grade home ec class. Yes I'm that old, lol. We didn't cut anything, we measured and ripped the pieces. Imagine 25 kids ripping the heck out of cotton fabrics at the same time. And tons of threads all over everything.

      Then I’m “that old” too 😂 home ec sewing class was my favorite in 7th & 8th grade!

    I too am... Borrowing a pattern I saw online but I was stuck on how to get the upper part attached to the waistband in a way that looked finished. Thank you for this video!! You got me unstuck so I can finally enjoy my apron! My "perfectionist goblin" was getting agitated and holding me up. Also thank you for the term "perfectionist goblin" 😂 she will forever be referred to as such from here on out, for the rest of my life! 😂

    Your apron is very beautiful, and your work is well done. Furthermore, it fits you very well. Me too, although I am a man, I like wearing such aprons especially cross-back aprons without ruffles or anything like that, simple cross-back aprons.

      A lot of it will depend on your own body measurements/preferences

    How did you space out & attach the pockets? I’m trying to figure out how to place them in a way where they won’t flatten my gather too much but not pucker a ton either. Just really stumped on attaching the pockets. And how far down did you put them from the waistband?

    • @OutfitRepeater
      @OutfitRepeater  Před 9 měsíci

      honestly I just kind of took a guess, pinned them, held it up against my waist to see if I liked the placement, then went for it haha. Trial and error

    • @OutfitRepeater
      @OutfitRepeater  Před rokem

      Thanks! I actually don’t know the fibre content since it was a thrifted bedsheet… but my guess is some kind of cotton blend (like less than 50 percent)

      I think it was a queen size bedsheet? So maybe between 2.5-3 yards? You might be able to do 2 yards with a shorter skirt :)
