- CSX empty coke train B158 heads eastbound through New Castle, Pennsylvania crossing Covert Road, on its way to Demmler, Pennsylvania. Filmed on February 14, 2024 at 4:57 pm.
This train requires a long story. Right after catching B454 with the CP SD70ACU leader, I planned on going back towards campus when I spotted a woman and what looked to be her son or grandson. She told me that another eastbound was approaching, and that train's engineer was apparently her husband and the little boy's grandfather. B158 ended up passing very slowly through Coverts signals as it was literally on B454's tail, which hadn't yet cleared the next signal. This was why B158 ran a red and had to run slow, but as I mentioned in this video, the operation was completely legal. Anyways, it brightened my day when the engineer yelled out, "hey little man!" to his grandson. You never know what you're gonna see on the high iron, but to see such a heartwarming moment with a family and a train was awesome. To make things better, this was on Valentine's Day. I hope that more families, including those who are involved with the railroad, do things similar to this as much as they can. That is what true love is all about.
Locomotives:
CSX 513 (GE CW44AH, narrow font K5LA horn)
CSX 3391 (GE ET44AH)
Length of train: 112 cars
It's always a pleasure to have a friendly crew that enjoys their job and enjoy the extra attention railfans give them
@@davidmaust1415 agreed! We need more of this

Greeeat catch. Love friendly crews!
Me too! Thanks for watching
That is the best feeling to get a smile and wave from the conductor or engineer. I think sometimes even they feel like kids at heart knowing they get to man the controls of full size 4000hp beast that they grew up playing with!
Thanks for sharing!
@@lookingback6314 oh absolutely! That's how I feel too at 21
