Of course Eminem is the greatest rapper that ever lived on this planet. But he’s definitely not getting better.
Thats just actually invalid. That isn't even a matter of opinion we have literally seen his improvement with his penmenship over time, just because he might not focus on what you want to hear doesn't mean that he's "not getting better". Back in the day he was more focused on flows, melodies, catchy hooks, and simpler lyrics, etc. Now he's more focused on the complexities of rap, internal and external rhyme schemes, double, triple sometime quad entendres, his flows and cadence have gotten immensely better, he's also a bit more creative when rhyming, using homophones, onomatopoias, alliteration, way more complex syllable rhymes, oronyms, the list can go on. Just because you might not appreciate what he is doing with the pen doesn't mean that we don't. And it certainly doesn't mean that he "isn't getting better", don't be lazy or assumptious when listening to his new music but actually look into what he is saying. Genius for example makes it easy but if you are actually passionate about the art of rap then learn about it. While complexity isn't always superior, it's an integral part of rap and deserves respect just like every other element that goes into this genre we all love. For example fast rap is often underrated even though it is a skill, just like complex and simple rhymes are skills, just because something is simple doesn't mean its easy, it takes practise to make a simple rhyme scheme hard hitting like the old slim shady days. But obviously the level he is at now takes time and a long career of rap to perfect. Em is also just having fun at this stage of his career, most people take themselves too seriously when listening to music. And obviously some stuff is up to personal taste, but personal taste and a respect for skill are two seperate things. He is getting better, much better.
@@kingderpygoat What complexity? He’s rapping just like any underground rapper would. His rhymes are much simpler. He’s saying things that aren’t even extraordinary and so low-effort like: “high horses and I’m fly, I soar like a fly”… Is there anything complex or incredible in that? Or “What is the opposite of Benzino… uh what? A giraffe”.
That, or he’s making mediocre tongue twisters like “Right towards the AsY-LUm or-the”.
The truth is that Eminem just can’t make good punchlines anymore. The flow is way too constant and it has too many random pauses that ruin how fluid his verses are. The era of acrobatic flows where he surpasses himself more and more is over.
