    • @billj4525
      @billj4525 Před 2 lety

      I agree, but i have super good genetics for lifting as a natural, and im about marks size in terms of lean body mass in terms of body fat and size. I put a ton of effort towards lifting weights and diet, probably more than he did since he was a fighter. Im also super strong naturally. If you have top of the line genetics you can get his body without steroids and just lifting. I know from experience because ive never taken steroids ever. I lift very heavy weights, and you're going to have to as a natural if you want that kind of size with low body fat. Steroids will ruin your health as well. Naturally im much bigger than most guys on juice by far. Like you said some guys on juice don't look anywhere near his size. In fact some look like crap from what i have seen. Juice does not make you huge automatically either. This kind of stuff is all genetics. Iv'e seen it all and genetics matters more than anything. Definitely are limits though. You arent going to be 290 pounds 5 foot 8 with 6 percent body fat like some of the top bodybuilders naturally regardless of genetics. I don't believe that is even close to possible at all from what i have seen, not to mention that is very unhealthy at the kind of weight with juice and what not. Just wanting to let you guys know though that a lot is possible with good genetics. Just because a given person can't accomplish something doesn't mean other people with great genetics can't.

  • @tpap6827

    Kerr had so much potential and when he was training with Bas Rutten it appeared he would be unstoppable but opioid addiction and his strained relationship with a woman was not the kind of girl a fighter should be with when he’s trying to be a champion took him out of the game to early. I always wonder if he would have gotten started with pain killers if his girlfriend wasn’t such an unsupportive shrew. He seems like a super nice person and the type of guy that would try to make things work with a crazy relationship (anyone who’s been through one can attest to how much a tortured relationship or a divorce can ruin your ability to excel at your job). You can go through the motions in a lot of corporate jobs assuming you are not a high level financial manager or a risk taking trader or entrepreneur, but a competitive athlete in a high stakes dangerous sport where there can be only one champion will never go to the guy with incredible personal problems regardless of how dominant he could be with even 90% focus. That really made me sad to see him wash up so quickly when, at the time, their was no fighter like him. When he was in Pride you saw his aggression wane and his killer instinct turned into a fight not to lose mentality. That’s when he started tentatively looking for a takedown each round and then putting his head in his opponents chest hands on the biceps and sit in the guard for every round.

      @ThePinkMan Před 3 lety +6

      He had an extensive background in karate and was also apparently a hand-to-hand combat instructor for the Israeli military. Like a lot of strikers back in the early days, though, he only specialized in the skills of his base style and didn't have enough grappling training to effectively compete in the cage (You'd need to be a damn good wrestler to fend off a monster like Kerr, either way). I think he did try to learn at least some grappling, though, because he attempted to sprawl when he fought Mark Coleman in his first fight.

    If people would dig a little bit more, talking about Moti Horenstein, would probably discover that the "survival" reference is not a tacticool joke but a clear reference to the martial art he originally studied in his country: Survival Ju jitsu or Hisardut that in hebrew means Survival. Altough it has been branded as an official jujitsu style, the founder, legendary Dennis Hanover, developed a style blending Mas Oyama's karate, judo throws and jujitsu, a style that shaped a lot of great athletes and throug warriors that excelled in different competitions. DSJJ is still a great style and a place where you can still train hard.
