There’s been and still are some darn nice (and market depressed) cards at that $900-1100 price point. I’ve picked up several of them this year

Joe, Repackers are the Herpes of the Hobby. At least a repacker had to look at you when they screwed you in the past. I have seen these before with TCG here in DC area too.

I am going to disagree with Mike's comment at the 30 minute mark about graders putting a half in there because we all learned in the Saturday night live there is no such thing as a half -- you round up to 60 or round down to 50 :)

All great 80s players and a lot of great 90s players have Topps rookie cards. Fanatics a shit, but I'd love to see a Topps flagship NHL release. They'd probably even put players' full career stats on the back, whereas upper deck only puts like 4-5 years. When I open Upper Deck flagship, it just feels like a lazy product.
Edit: I'm with EP. Paper > Chrome. Shine is a meme. Paper images are much clearer.
I know those players have Topps rookies but the O Pee Chee version seems to be the more sought after one. Then, at a certain point, it was all Upper Deck for hockey. Plus the Joe Day Hockey player card is Upper Deck so that swings the pendulum pretty far to them!
PS I collect Star Trek, Marvel and DC cards and most of them are glossy paper but for Topps, I will always prefer Chrome...maybe its nostalgia with opening up a ton of Topps Chrome in the 90s.
@@joeday17821 Yeah. It's a lot about what you fall in love with initially. I started collecting in '86 and stopped around '92. Didn't pick it up again until 2022, so my entire history was paper. I had to watch youtube videos to figure out what the hell chrome was when I got back in. Refractors are cool. Base chrome looks meh to me.
