I keep coming back to this performance, because when I'm away from it I can't believe how flawless and perfect the sounds are in my head. The absolute clarity of that wonderful powerful voice in any register, backed by an orchestra and conductor truly worthy of dancing with it. Then there are the people responsible for the quality of this recording of the miracle. What an age to live in. Rossini and Mozart should be here to see & hear it!
