  • This video is to show how a typical training session looks like. I have been trained and certified by Aasaan Dr. Jothi Senthil Kannan of Jothi Silambam Kshaktiriya Gurukulam to safely practice and teach Traditional Karlakattai.
    With the blessings of Aasaan, I founded Karlakattai Training U.K which is associated with International Karlakattai Sports Federation - I.K.S.F.
    In this practice session I have done Othakai Suttru with a few variations, Udal Suttru, Keezh Vaaral Suttru, Mel Vaaral Suttru, and Thol suttru in Vajrasana
    The Karlakattai videos that I put out on social media are mainly to educate and spread awareness about this great practice. As I have mentioned in many of my other videos, there is a lot more to Karlakattai Training than just swinging a club. You must prepare your body and build up to using a club safely with Mei Paadam and Udal Kattu Paadam combined with the right breathing technique call Kshaktiriya Pranayama. You will reap maximum benefit for your health and fitness from the inside and out, when this is followed.
    PS: Please do not try unless you are an experienced practitioner or under the guidance of a certified Karlakattai Coach.
