INSANE MAINLINE CONVOY + West Somerset Railway SPRING DIESEL FESTIVAL

As well as the Bulleid Pacific event at Swanage, the West Somerset Railway held their Spring Diesel Festival this weekend and to kick off proceedings, on the 4th June, an impressive heritage diesel convoy, led by Class 20’s 20189 + 20142 ‘Sir John Betjeman’ with Class 50 50033 ‘Glorious’ and Class 46 Peak 46045 dead in tow, passed Bridgwater with the early running 0Z20 Kidderminster - Bishops Lydeard in preparation for their starring roles at the gala. This was an epic sight to see on the mainline in 2024!
Thursday 6th June was spent at the event, with shots from Bishops Lydeard, Crowcombe Heathfield Williton, Blue Anchor, Washford and Minehead of gala guests which had arrived in convoy + Class 24 No. D5054 ‘Phil Southern’ from the East Lancashire Railway, all in action alongside the WSR home fleet Class 14 Teddy Bear D9526.
