Gosh I wish I can go back to 1987 again, I feel like quality of life was so much better then than now, music, TV shows, movies was very good, people were nicer, friendlier and more open then, clothing materials were made of better quality then, you got more for your money back then and there was less anger & anxiety going on in this world.
I miss those BIG awesome rack stereos we had in the 80's! Great music and great Hi-Fi systems with those beefy 3-way floor standing speakers! Not like those weak Bluetooth toys kids play today. The 80's were awesome!
This is a use and throw generation, be it things or relations....so the products are also made accordingly
While I do come from Generation Z, I can imagine a time where people didn't make a big deal out of white tic-tac earbuds or make peasant jokes based on them. Headphones were a much bigger thing back in the day, from what I've seen, and now I'm one of the very few people who still wears them despite not being from the 80s. The fact that I'm even fascinated with 80s culture does a big favor for the older people out there.

I came across this just now after many years while looking for something else, and it brings back a very tender memory for me. I taught English abroad for several years. During my time in the Far East, one of my teaching colleagues was recently engaged, and told me that he wanted to sing this song to his fiancée. He asked if I could if I would write down the lyrics to this song for him to sing to her, but wanted to practice because his English skills were not strong. I certainly agreed, and thought it was such a beautiful gesture. I listened over and over and typed everything out for him. When I presented him with the printed lyrics, I found that the song was not for her, but for me. He sang it to me. I was dumbfounded. I had no idea! It was me that he loved, but he married her anyway.
