    Marci Shore is an American researcher in the Department of Intellectual History at Yale University, where she specializes in the history of literary and political engagement with Marxism and phenomenology.
    Shor is the author of "Caviar and Ashes: A Warsaw Generation's Life and Death in Marxism, 1918-1968," a biography of Polish and Polish-Jewish writers who gravitated toward Marxism in the 20th century; and "The Taste of Ashes", an exploration of the presence of the communist and Nazi past in contemporary Eastern Europe. She is also known as the author of "The Ukrainian Night: An Intimate History of Revolution" (Yale University Press, 2017) about the events of the Ukrainian Maidan and its consequences.
