Joby Aviation - All-Electric Vertical Flight

- We're developing an all-electric aircraft that can take off and land vertically. Far quieter than a helicopter and with zero operating emissions, we intend to operate the Joby aircraft as part of an electric air taxi service in cities and communities around the world.
This footage comes from real flight testing of our prototype in the skies above Marina, California. - Věda a technologie
So exciting, this bird is a beauty
why does this look like MSFS?
I have high hopes for Joby - and yes own stock, but would love to see something new. I've taken a DA40 to Marina, I know you have that concept Skyport in the back and I would love to see how that all would work.
I have not heard of any break through in battery technology that will back up their claims of this bird flying 150 Miles.
This demo video will not show it flying continuously for more than one minute.

So I take it you don't accept the curvature of the Earth either, because you personally have not been high enough to see it with your own eyes?
If they released the hour long video, how do we know you wouldn't say it was recorded from a gas helicopter.
is that the production model or older version? the body is different than the little production model and the props are different and white instead of black. the number on the side is different also. how old is this? this isn't proof of level flight the chase plane could have been descending and it wasn't much time to see.
No people have ever flown ln it. I've got an RC helicopter that does that.
the pilots?
incorrect. See their video "Flying Joby's Electric Air Taxi with a Pilot On Board" here on their channel. (we can't put links on youtube comments anymore. Would if I could.)
its real or animation? couse looks wierd
Cool, but I needed to see take off and landing. Why are they edited off?
Plenty of other videos showcase take-off, hover, approach, and landing.
@@Saml01 Ok
Because it won't fly more than a few minute's on a single charge.
I suspect it is making horizontal rolling takeoffs to conserve it's limited battery life.
@@yukon4511 The Lipo battery in my Kia Niro EV weighs about 1000 lbs. A Tesla battery weighs 1000 lbs. Where in that aircraft are they stuffing 1000 lbs of battery.?
I absolutely love this! I’m building a plane in my garage and it’s so old school in comparison! The past 2 years I’ve met young engineers from Joby during Car Week. Always smart, curious, and nice people, so I bet the company culture is awesome too. You guys are killing it. I cannot wait until they’re in service! ❤❤❤❤
I'll be happy to see $45 per share or even better $120.00 per share. It will be craz
If it is a VTOL aircraft, why not show it performing VTOL.......and maybe with a couple of passengers.
I'd be satisfied with one weighted crash test dummy or two if they really want to show off.
@@TheBagOfHolding This thing has been in development for many years. Shouldn't it be carrying humans before buying factories?
@@yukon4511 it should at least prove it can carry the equivalent weight.
Agreed, but why open production facilities, at investor expense, if it has never carried passengers. Don't forget, they lost one in 2022.@@TheBagOfHolding
@@yukon4511 because they are a scam trying to deceive investors for financial gain.

Why such a highly edited, computer animation?

deceptive empty edited short flights combined again. show a full flight from takeoff to landing carrying 300lbs for 5 miles if that's even possible. nobody can do that or has done it.
If you doubt a video then just go out to California and watch it fly. You can watch it take off, fly and then land. Every day, multiple times a day.
@@therestorationshop did anyone ever witness this? where are their videos? nobody goes to watch them fly because thet don't.
Franky the fool doubting again 😆
@@rmc6055 this isn't even the production model. its old and maybe the one that crashed. there isn't any proof so i will doubt until there is.
@@frankyflowers JoeBen is my neighbor. I have watched this from the beginning. All you need to do is go to Marina for the day and you will see the bird fly . It’s a daily occurrence.

Someone in the comments seems eager to make us believe that Joby has something to hide. I have no connection to the company, and don't own any of their stock. I live a few miles from the Marina airport where Joby has facilities. The prototype has been flying almost every work day, and often multiple flights per day, at that. The takeoffs and landings are easily seen by the public from a small parking lot that has a great view of the ramp.
I often follow the flights from home using ADS-B apps, and they average about 40 minutes per flight, at an altitude of about 1000 ft. A chase plane or helicopter always accompanies the Joby. I have many ADS-B screen shots of the various routes it makes over farmland to the north and northeast of the airport. The don't fly over populated areas yet. A couple of so-so clips of the Joby I shot on my so-so phone are on my channel.
Your videos of the empty joby are nothing.
They are not allowed to fly over populated areas as long as the aircraft is remotely controlled.
Which N number are you using? The 2 I know are blocked by owner on FlightAware.
can you please answer yukon's question?
Yes, the N number is blocked. They use ZZZZ as a placeholder, but you can't place an alert for that either. Because I'm local to the Marina Municipal Airport (KOAR) i see it on ADS-B all the time, and if I see a ZZZZ aircraft, I click on it. I know it's getting ready for a flight if it doesn't have a flight track yet, and there is a chase aircraft already flying close by.
Rooting for your success...but concerned that you are putting out fluff targeted at...investors? Not sure what we are supposed to get out of this other than a couple seconds of eye candy, and the more of this stuff you put out, the more people will think you are smoke and mirrors.
It’s hardly smoke and mirrors, I have tour their facilities and watched it takeoff fly and land. A very impressive company, to say the least.
well, what are you looking for? People have recorded it flying. Anybody can see in Marina, California.
Can't wait to board one
Same for the test pilot
WAY to GO OHIO! Congrats to JOBY / DAYTON!
A wonderful bird so nice and agile 🙂greetings from Switzerland
At the moment it is just a remotely controlled drone. 🤷♂️
Joby, you gotta stick pilots in the machine for these tests. you must show your faith in the idea! Virgin Galactic proves bravery is just as important as anything else when it comes to proving a flying machine.
I'm not buying stock till I see an ace test pilot flying this thing for realsies.
search for this video title "Flying Joby's Electric Air Taxi with a Pilot On Board" it's here on their channel
Too loud, too much to go wrong. I'd have to drive to the place its going to pick me up. Flight time will have to be short. What do I do when I land? I will need transportation. If flight time is so short why not just drive? I don't see these working in the snow so very limited. I don't see helicopters very often so I'm not sure why this would ever get popular.
Yes!
Amazing..
First kkkk

Give me a cheap diesel car or small pickup.... cant, but this crap is getting funded.
