Amazing how so many of us came looking for this song after the same shared TV shows: The Accountant, Blacklist, Suits and now True Detective. Love it 😍❤
Christian Wolff driving down the road, precisely entering his garage door, cooking 3 perfect eggs and banging his shins brought me here. this song gives me the tranquil feels and makes being alone even better.
Thank you Jon; Was watching "The Black List" and came here fairly quick; Everyone else's suggestions weren't why I came so you saved me going hunting; "The Accountant" has become Top 5 favorite all time.
I first heard this song on the accountant. For some reason, I watched that movie on repeat for awhile....and got very familiar with just the first 2 verses. I had no idea how it progressed after that. I finally saw the whole song on YT. And that's when I heard one of the most satisfying guitar riffs (3/4 of the way thru), and deeply deeply cool drums at the end. A bonanza of musical reward at the end! Love it!

My latest favorite. Thank God for movie and TV show soundtracks. One of the best ways to find good songs these days. Because the radio doesn't seem to be doing that anymore, does it?
my sweet Jesus what a beautiful song! I tried to sing it my self just a first stave but i can't. It made me cry i can't even open my mouth. Give this man a reward now!
@@AT-ki8jzAs someone that feels people give S1 more credit than it deserves, I must agree that this isn't on the same level as S1. Hopefully it gets better though. 🤞
@zornu They set up a really interesting mystery and a cool location with the research station, but then they spent more than half the episode on other things away from that. It was disappointing. I think all that side stuff is going to ultimately turn out to just be filler. They really should have focused on the main mystery more.
@@AT-ki8jzIt probably won't live up to the greatness of that first season, but I think it's awesome that they're harkening back to the original material, with the Yellow Sign and Tuttle references.
I fell in love with this song years ago, after hearing it on the Blacklist. Tonight I'm rewatching Elementary again and forgot this was the 2nd time I've heard this song on anything. Jim James has such amazing voice and hidden talent.

Damn. A sleeping beast has awoken from slumber. The Power Is Going Out. I guess my phone heard my television watching Blacklist because I don't remember hearing this. I love it. This. Thank you.
I saw Jim James and Twin Limb live yesterday at The Palace and his music gave me an experience I will never forget. The lights, the music, and everything was just so unreal. His music had 50-60 y.o's dancing like crazy and his music had everyone up on their feet just feeling his music. I love the old school groovy with a new school twist.
You work on a song. You make money selling records and not only that, the song grows to play in not just one but "multiple" films. On top of everything else the song is so unique that first time listeners from around the globe go looking for it to hopefully get the name and hear it again. Now that is living the dream.
You kind of answered your own question with your follow up question. People probably hate reading it because, like you say, who cares what brought you here. Something brought everyone here.
Why do you call those people hipsters though? That's kind of the opposite of a what a hipster originally was supposed to mean a hipster would never find music on a mainstream movie or t v show, they would've heard it when the band was still rehearsing it for a gig in an underground bar/antique store....
