I grew up listening to the recording of the great Vladimir Ashkenazi playing this astonishing concerto, and this performance is just as good.

What a wonderful concerto! At one time, it was rarely played, but now it appears with some regularity. I must have a dozen or more recordings of it. This performance is quite excellent. Bravo!
