I'm 63 year old woman and those were the best years of my life. I grew up with that music and went out dancing almost every night after work. If I could go back in time those would be the years
I agree. It was a wonderful time to be alive.
And all that music. It was fantastic
the 70's was something special!
Yes, So did I!
OMG... I love you. '70s child here... I would give ANYTHING TO go back to black n' white parties where we all loved each other. ❤❤❤
60's, 70's and 80's.......................Golden Age of Music.
There will never ever be a time period that will ever come close.
@powerofone1645 Except for the country music genre. The 90’s was the best era for country.
Fifties musicawesome also
💯
I'm a 62 year young white lady, but the music from the '60's & '70's was the best ever!!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am 68. This is my music, my era and the best times in my life
I remember arriving at the club early and no one was dancing as they were waiting for someone to get out there first. I was THAT guy. I’d run onto the dance floor and slide half way across it in my penny loafers and then go right into a John Travolta move followed by a moon walk. The chicks would go crazy!
But, can you still dance? Lol.

ONE MINUTE…ONE MINUTE? That is absolutely NOT ENOUGH! Thank you for the look back in time!
Such a better time. Family dinners. People dancing. Neighborhood's alive. Kids playing in the streets. If only I could go back in time. I wish kids today could live like we...not glued to devices and having fun in the fresh air. Not worrying to wear a mask, and if they are going to die from a released virus.
🤣I have no idea was this is so entertaining...but the part where he yells at him to “Getcha back up all the wall!!” is... 🤣🤣😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
🤣🤣
The words are...”get your back up off the wall” (meaning don’t just stand there, get out on the dance floor). I sure agree with what you said that it is so entertaining (and I wish I could move like these guys👍👍😄)
Right! every time I see that I just hoot with laughter!!! the timing is so perfect.
It’s like they stepped right out of the 70s. That was awesome.
Love this!
Awesome!
Agreed. It brings back great memories of Soul Train and great music/ moves. What happy days! Thanks for the awesome video!!!!
Yes they are and they’re hilarious I just love them🤣💕
They did...I was there😁
I miss my 'fro. I miss my friends and I sitting in the park with a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill (nothing else would do) with a boom box grooving 'til late in the evening. I miss everyone piling in my beat up '71 Maverick to head to the discos in West L.A. I miss the excitement of being in my 20's and all the possibilites that came with it. I miss 1977-1987...some of the best years of my life.
I showed this to my dad who was born in the 50s in Detroit. When it ended he asked me "Why did you stop the music video?". I told him that it was the end of the video. He said "I know this song and I know it goes on longer".
Turns out, he thought y'all danced so well that he believed that this was the actual music video. My dad, who grew up going to Jackson 5 and Aretha Franklin concerts in hus teens, was convinced that y'all are the real deal.
Please keep doing what you're doing. Even though I was born long after this music went out of style, and even though I was born far away from where it was hot, it still holds a place in my of our heart.
I love Kool and the gang!!
Your dad saw an angel when he saw Aretha Ms.Franklin... what a talent.

I’m 67 and was playing saxophone in the clubs through this era. As sometimes the only white guy in the band, and in the south, sometimes the only white guy in the club, I had some hilarious moments. I remember one time walking into a neighborhood roadhouse in Witchita, Kansas, and literally stopping all conversation and all eyes in the club turning toward me. A frozen moment in time. Then eyes darted to the horn case I was carrying as the rest of the band came in behind and everything was cool. I feel privileged to have experience those times. Get Down On it indeed! ✌️
I totally understand what you mean. I played horn in a group of Detroit and we would hit places where you have the only white guy around but everybody just wanted music, hear them sounds and get down. That's what we need more of just everybody grooving together
Awesome stories both of yall. The white token guy "no offense" If you could play/sing you were welcomed. I do miss that about music these days if that's what you call it 🤔🤷😞 Sad but we will always have the Good Ole days😘💃💃💃🤗
I'm 73 but used to go to all black clubs occasionally, just so I could dance and listen to the music. It's funny how at first, people would pause for a moment, but when I'd start dancing with my black boyfriend everything always turned out fine.
I’m 28 and I sometimes wish I could go back in time to this era. When there’s music like this, it sounds like a party all the time!

I was born in 1972 and grew up dancing with this music.
I feel so sad for young people - they will NEVER experience anything like *THE 70s!*
...
The 70s were the one free decade we were ever granted. There was so much going on that decade.
People could breathe. People could relax.
When you look at the world how it is now - it's like comparing a dark ages to utopia.
And the best part was that we didn't plan it, or try to contrive it. It just happened.
It's like what people were capable of when they were just left alone, to follow natural instincts.
It was ok. A little bit of respect. A little bit of style. A little bit of compassion. A little bit of love.
A whole lot of human nature.
And we didn't have an internet, we had 8-track.
We didn't have smart/dumb phones, we had boom boxes.
We didn't have social media, we had ten thousand clubs and every one was its own scene.
We didn't have identity politics, we identified with real people who inspired us to be our best.
We didn't have a 'gender spectrum' , we had unisex.
We didn't have systemic racism, we had mixed race relationships, marriages, babies, cross-blended culture.
We didn't have techno-pop, we had R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock 'n' Roll, Rock, Blues, Fusion, Reggae, and a thousand other mixes and matches that defined or defied categorization.
We didn't have cancel culture, we had the courage of free and unfettered expression.
I will always feel proud to have lived through and been shaped by this decade, that took me from my late teens to my late twenties. The music, the art, the literature, the film, the total output was like the blossoming of a renaissance. Modernity takes one quick glance at it and thinks it's just real weird clothes and bad hair.
They don't know at all what moved up from down below. We had to survive the 50s, get through and then the hell out of the 60s, and have one decade of sweet respite before the ugly 80s showed up.
Funny - I can't think of one defining moment in that decade. The whole decade defined itself for ten years. I think for a lot of us, half the decade moved through and was gone before we realized what we had. Like this glorious freeform performance art. Like it was okay to laugh out loud at all the stuck up people who just couldn't handle that kind of gift.
Like it didn't matter how you moved. That wasn't really the point. The point was that you didn't have to ask permission to move. It was understood.
I miss the 70's and the 80's.
I feel like we ARE experiencing the 70s right now.

So true, especially the 70's which people tend to forget gave us disco and rap, and songs were no longer 2 minutes and change like the 60's. @@AC-mp7cx Black people created blues. Black people created jazz. Black people created R&B (the distinction from traditional blues is worth categorizing.) A black woman created rock and roll (and was the writer of Hound Dog stolen and popularized by Elvis.) Another Black woman crated grunge. Black people created Funk. Black people created Soul. While Black people maybe can't claim the creation of "pop" music in its infancy no one in thier right mind can pretend it wasn't definitively shaped by Black people (or white people riding the coattails of Black culture.) Black people of course also created rap and hip hop which is currently being gentrified by way of only promoting Black artists/an image of Black people that is a marketable stereotype while only allowing the air time for deeper more thought provoking and emotional lyrics to white rappers. There's even certain schools of thought that country music was created by Black Mexican and Indigenous field workers who were the actual cow"boys" but I haven't seen a whole lot on that front.
So basically Black people created American music. Or at least all the fun ones.
We know most of these things because the first accounts we have of anyone doing it were of Black people. And because Black people were ostracized naturally anything that was brought into the forefront of polite (see: white) society would be looked at with a level of distain. White people Did Not want to touch anything Black people did (both metaphorically and literally) so that's why you generally wouldn't have white people claiming to have created something everyone knew was Black. Have a good day.

Anyone hearing this song who doesn’t at least bop your head, you have no soul. 💃🏼
Exactly!
I wasn't bopping or dancing BUT I have this song on my Spotify for when I do GET DOWN ON IT and it's just the best.
😂😂😂
Oh thank goodness i bopped phew!!!
get down on it
Omg this was everything I remember about the 70s and 80's. I watched over 20 times. Needs to be longer.
I just remember rocking out to the disco in the 70’s! You make me smile!
I was born in 62 and it's a great time machine you guys have, rock on baby peace out ✌️👍💯‼️
This 70s music is my favorite I listen to it all the time. It's not depressing. makes you get up and dance, and very happy. You can forget me listening to that sad country suicide music. I like to be happy myself.
@Subtle Nature LOL you're right me too. Is the best cleaning music. Have a good one and take care
LOL @ "country suicide music."
Honestly, I miss the songs of the 80s and 70s. Grew up with them. Now, you don't see the same quality in newer acts. So thankful Bruno Mars is bringing back Funk and soul
Nothing 80's about this. Pure 70's
Boy... That was a blast from the past. I grew up in that era. You guys got the looks and the moves down pat! 😁
I was conceived in 1962, so I am EXTREMELY blessed to have lived AND survived the 70's and 80's!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *GREAT times man!!!!!!! :)*
I'm a 58 year young grandmother and oh how I miss these days when this was dancing and it was an art. We need more of this in our world today. Please do more and as everyone else has said..... more video's and make them longer. I also agree with another person who said, if this doesn't make you want to dance, you have no soul!! Great job you guys. Thanks for the memories.
I’m the same age and totally know what you’re talking about! Great comment 🥰
You're looking fine granny😀😀👍

70's/80's kid here. Best video I've watched today. SOOOOO true!
You know you can dance when you can moonwalk on concrete!
I'm a boomer & i gotta say, these guys imitate the dance movements good!

Ha Ha. LOVED IT. !! I was pretty much raised on this song, it seems. I'm 71. ALL the bars were playing it.
I’m just a 58 year-old white boy but I still remember this jam when it first came out. I loved it then and I love it even now.
