Colorado PUBLIC LAND Archery Elk Hunt; Chad's 1st Archery Bull S2 E4

- The opener of elk season in Colorado I got to tag along with Chad Hazen, a good friend I met the year prior at my campsite in Colorado. He drew an archery bull elk tag for a unit with a few points and was set on filling his tag on a backpack hunt, which he accomplished, and I got to capture it all on video for him to relive forever and to share with all of you. This trip was absolutely unreal. This footage was some of the best I have to this day, the views were priceless, and the memories will last forever. Watching those elk in the mountains just doing what they do is so amazing. We were so far from any civilization, it really was hard to fathom that what I was experiencing was real; before this hunt, I had never done anything like this. The amount of miles we hiked throughout this trip was absurd. The conditions and weather were very brutal at times, but at the end of the day/trip, we made it off the mountain alive and well. I'm very thankful to have had this opportunity to go on this hunt and to experience some of God's creation that very few people have ever seen. There's a moment at the end of the video where I caught myself reflecting on the whole hunt and really appreciating the moment, and I can still feel that emotion to this day. No matter what happens on hunting trips, wether you fill a tag or not, you have to remember to enjoy the process, make the most of every moment and opportunity, and be thankful for the experience. If you're one of those people that say "I hope I get to make it out west one day," make this year be that year for you. Don't push it off another year, the sooner you go, the less you'll regret wishing you would've gone sooner, I promise you!
