    "Since cpu these days are all multi-threaded, you will never catch your cpu on full load unless you run multiple program simultaneously."
    wrong. plenty of applications are fully capable of utilising multiple threads. shogun 2 attempts to do so. if shogun 2 were more efficient in utilising all available threads, it would be able to use all 4.5ghz of 8 threads i.e. no lag.
    my pc is more than capable of the AI processing that 40,000 men would require. the game cannot utilise it.

      @pieoffire Před 10 lety +1

    • @dk0bl1v10n
      @dk0bl1v10n Před 10 lety

      ...the only thing that was discusses was quality over quantity, if he completed his whole roster with more hero units he alone would have defeated every single one, and if he actually wanted to win all he had to do was have 550 or 1000 of only katana or no-dachi samurais and then he would have killed all 40k. that is what it means quality over quantity

    • @pieoffire
      @pieoffire Před 10 lety

      dk0bl1v10n You make a fair point, but I can't help but repeat my self but its true the end justified the loss, now lets say he did have a full band of heroes (Although that's impossible with out cheats) they would win however he didn't he had a small group of them. Not to mention quality not always the best way a good examples Fall of the samurai 2 kachi riflemen VS 1 red bear unit would most likely resulting kachi victory as they have the size advantage, of course its still true that quality is often better it really depends on the circumstances.

    And is the i7 better for other stuff? I would mainly have it as a gaming pc but does it process certain programs faster or does it make your computer faster in any way? Because I've worked for the i7 and have the money for it, but if it does not have any benefit over the i5 it would be a waste of money.
    Last thing: is the i5 better than the i7 or are the equal on the gaming side?

  • @TheInsomniaddict
    @TheInsomniaddict Před 11 lety +1

    I think if you took the middle island and hid your bowman and ninja on the mountain areas in a kill-box orientation, you may be able to win. Primary goal would be to take pressure off of your center, and force either a simultaneous moral-break on back/front to cause panic, or force them to spread their troops out enough so you can deal with the bulk. Also, use your melee charge!

    You has god position to defend on this mountain, there your hero units can cooperate and also you could hide your cavalry in forrest to strike from behind many times, and run your archer cavalry to pull away some of their ashigaru. It was bad battle my friend, but interesting idea.

  • @Volound
    @Volound  Před 11 lety

    this is an i5-2500k overclocked to 4.8GHz. that is pretty much the best performance that money can buy. you wont find a video with 40,000 men in which the soldiers are not moving like teleporting robots for the next 5 years, unless rome 2 improves multi-core support. 99% of people's games would crash within 3 minutes if they went over 30,000 men.
    now you know.

    try it yourself. reenact a small scale version of this battle. pick a hero unit and put it against 5000 yari ashigaru. it wont get above 1500 kills before it succumbs, ever.

    Since cpu these days are all multi-threaded, you will never catch your cpu on full load unless you run multiple program simultaneously. Though in your case, the bottleneck could be your cache writing speed. Your CPU may be able to handle the processing, but it cannot handle the transmission.
    When a program cannot handle something, it crashes or glitches, not lags. It's your computer's fault.

    In terms of properly rounding, many round to the greatest possible number, in a way that means fudging the numbers. It isn't so much a lack of intelligence as it is hyperbole to get more attention drawn.
